Not sure if this has been brought up before. I have always wanted to set chain fire groups of weapons instead of just 1 at a time. And when I say groups I dont mean weapons assigned to a different button. Lets use the term linked weapons

For example, if you have 4 PPCS, being able to click once, fire two PPCs with the one button click, then click the SAME button, and fire another 2 in the same group.

At least in the mechlab you should be able to link weapons like this. But if they did it in game you could say use, "end" to change the color of each linked group, then it chain fires like normal but as linked weapons in the same weapon group.

I really dont like the idea that if people use macros or have perfect control of their 400 button mouse they have an advantage, but people that don't cant do the same because of an oversight.

I was trying to figure out if there was a way to do this a long time ago (can't remember what mech it was for), but yes it would be handy. I currently use three buttons (+ #4 only for LRM's).
