The hitboxes for structures is horrible in a lot of places. Go to the Manifold map and hang out on top of the center structure. Try to shoot around one of the many pillars under the center structure, their hitboxes are 6-10 feet outside of where the visual for the pillar ends. Ridiculous.

Yeah, at the top of the HPG generator you always hit the pillars, because they are twice as big for the server, as what you see on the screen. But don't worry, the enemy Mechs cannot hit you either, so the pillars maybe often have protected you from the enemy shots and saved your live.

And, this is also a very old problem, so don't expect that to be fixed, because everybody needs to work on the clan mechs.

terrain hitbox is crap in this game, just have to learn not to shoot too close to corners. not that it helps. because some times the invisible hitbox can be as large as the mech itself

protip. use it to bait enemy to shoot you ineffectively once you learn where the invisible walls are

And that adds to make walking out of cover and using arm weapons inferior. It is simply impossible to push AC20 around the corner and fire blind. Or even push around the corner until a target is just visible to aiming and the fire the arm weapons. The gun will train itself on the wall on front and thus it is not possible to hit anything.
Makes the game suck at that point. Takes of another advantage of arm mounted weapons.

you have to train yourself to always be looking at the range finder's number because it will tell you if you are about shoot into the magic void or not.
