Just means I can't use a clan mech while fighting for a IS house and vice versa. I could be wrong though. If it comes down to it, I'll just switch factions/clans as I switch mechs.

Yeah I have been waiting to see a CONCRETE post about this, and there may be a post that explains EXACTLY how they will implement it, but I haven't seen anything that lays out EXACTLY/FOR SURE what is going to happen..

But, I haven't really gone looking for a DEV post like that either..
Does anyone know..?? I would appreciate it if someone could clarify that.

EDIT: As far as I know the Clans will NOT be hiring Mercs or Lone Wolves EVER.
BUT, I don't know if MWO will change that, it would be nice to know before Clan Tech drops into MWO, and the start the 3050 Timeline up again for CW.

I wouldn't want to drop money on Clan Mechs and NOT know how they would be implemented, hence the fact that I spent ZERO dollars on Clan Mechs.
There were simply too many un-answered questions to justify a purchase.

The player base probably cannot support clan vs IS only matches. Especially given the fact the clan mechs are not all available for cbill purchase. Probably not enough people who bought the packages to support clan vs IS only.

I think I'll be staying as a Lone Wolf for now, since my favorite factions are Wolf's Dragoons, Kell Hounds and Wolves-in-Exile, but very tempted to go Clan Wolf.

And I'm probably gonna just keep taking whatever mechs I'm still getting to Master when the time comes.

Right now, I'm leaning toward selling all of my non Cash-bearing variants.

If you never intend to play with them again. There is no reason not to. If you are still on the fence, you would probably regret it later though. Wouldn't be surprised if they had events like the mech and mech bay giveaways that required the use of an IS mech in the future.

Y'all just need to chill out and play the game without worrying about who's IS or Clan until CW actually comes out. Until then, enjoy playing in the new big, stompy, robots.

Like we've, you know, done over the last couple years...

I'd imagine that even IS players who bought into the Clan packages will be running their Clan mechs just to grind them up, XP-wise. I'm a pure IS player, so didn't buy any of them, but they'll be neat to see on the battlefield.

Looking forward to CW, at this point (and my Hatchetman, Zeus, King Crab, Urbanmech...)

The Nova is going to be a nasty piece of work, even if it only has 16 tons to play with.

You can build it to have an 88 "Firepower" rating, although that is deceptive because 20 comes from the MGs.

8 ERSLs and 4 ERMLs brings you to a 68 alpha strike...enough to remove all armor from a max 80 tonner's leg. The ballistic arms don't fare off any better. And those 4 MGs will make short work of those weapons...or any ammo.

And this build has the choice between 20 DHS, or 19 and a targetting computer for those extra crits. I expect to have some fun with it.

Heck, even the stock S variant looks pretty fun, 6 MPLs and 4 MGs.

I really don't think the Clan mechs will be the uber dominant death machines that some think they will be.

I'm standing by for torrents of rage and rivers of tears here on patch day.

We'll know soon enough................

It'll be interesting to see how the battlefield adapts once Revival hits (And Clan Wars for all you negators out there).

Alot of variants even in their stock form will be killers. Our tried and true IS counterparts will be facing great challenges when they first hit but I imagine it won't be long before IS Mechwarriors start salvaging and putting Clan weapons and tech in their best war machines and dishing out their own brand of salvation for the Sphere.

I realize many of you don't like how this is being implemented and going off on a tangent or rant each time something even remotely clan based comes to fruituation isn't going to change this. Come on, really though, don't let it dampen the game and fun you and others have with it. I'm fan of the Universe and I hate how this is being done but I'm going to suck it up and enjoy the Mechwarrior we have rather than the 10 years of hopes and maybes that someone would do something with this franchise for PC players.

Not sure if you are just fluffing,or if you don't know that clan and IS tech can't be mixed and matched.

no clan tech on IS mechs, and vice versa.

What will it take to have you field your Trueborn self in Operation Revival for the ideal of a united Star League?

Money. Lots and lots of money. Lone wolf, fighting alongside you by myself.

Mad Cat -surprise loadout. Unless we get a Test.

Don't Pirate factions get access to Clan tech first? By raiding it from the Clans of course.

Other than that I think Davion uses alot of Clan mechs, but far in the future.

I wonder how operation revival will work. Under the current heat system more than one Clan Mech have heat issues, and balancing Clan Tech bad to IS technology is a bad idea. The technological gap between the IS and the Clans was the mainreason that spurred the technological renaissance in the IS.
