While I am excited for the Clan Launch.

We will be fighting more in a 3055 format. With mixed units of IS and Clan mechs. After the Khans death material started to dry up. Clans, and bondsmen were forced to use subpar mechs due to lack of resources.

Battles will feel more like MechWarrior 3.

you have no HS in the engine and a free ton unused, maybe drop one of the fives for more heatsinks? Otherwise you're running to hot to be really effective and never trigger and alpha, took 2/3rd's of a minute to bleed off that heat.

Should this game be around by the time Clan Snow Raven arrives in the IS (or we have some time skips) then I'll switch sides. Otherwise I'm a spheroid to the bone. Screw being born in a vat (again, unless I can be born in a CSR vat >.>).

I don't have much interest in the Clans for now... I'll be one of those stubborn IS pilots, probably in a Medium mech - probably a Hunchback - protecting the Inner Sphere. After all, isn't the most superior warrior the one who can win with INFERIOR tech? :-)

Once the Clan mechs are fully playtested, available for C-bills, and no longer top of the list for random nerfs or changes, we'll see. Until then, I'll be piloting what I know.

I did the same thing, but with CLPL's. The extra range just was not worth the heat for me, and I also managed to throw in a targeting computer.
EDIT: Here is my own take on the Dire Strike: http://goo.gl/2nhThA. 4 ERPPC's and a Gauss. Alternately, you could drop that Gauss and take dual UAC/5's. Either way, the end result is a very bad day for the other guy.

Seriously though, It's just random public games. Who cares if they mix teams so you can still drop with your friends who don't have clan mechs? If Davion can drop with Kurita, no sense to restrict clans in that same queue.

Faction play comes later.

I probably would not get too excited about June 17th. From the looks of all the recent announcements there will be a ton of stuff in the patch (i.e. fall damage, SRM fix, clans, etc.). The patch will be massive bogging down the server all day. Ping rates will probably be high from the downloading and all the people trying out there clan mechs. Might be more sensible to due the patch over 2 days. Maybe implement the clans on Tuesday and then the fixes on Thursday. Not to mention the fact they have been breaking as much stuff as they have been fixing in the recent patches. There is not telling what will go wrong with this upcoming patch with all the stuff being put into the game.
