Despite grand intentions, I can only foresee Clan mechs being significantly more powerful for their tonnage. Are there any plans to try to put the same number of clan mechs on each team?

Who knows, the new MM is still in flux and i am pretty sure the current one does not care one iota if your heavy mech is clan or IS.

But my advise would be to mentally prepare your self for the worst scenario you can imagine... That way you can at worst feel indifferent and will most likley be positively surprised.

Clan mechs will most likely be treated as being 5 tons heavier (e.g. a 55-ton medium Clan mech will be treated like a 60-ton heavy IS mech).

At least that's what Russ last said on the topic, when asked.

I for one look forward to my 105 ton Assault mech.

Well the Daishi is the outlier ofc... the one that simple sit a 100T and looks like it enjoys to chase parked cars.

Actually that will go for each bracket.. A medium will be a medium and a heavy a heavy...

I actually see the opposite happening. It will be more work than fun to use them like current IS non-poptart mechs.

They are all mostly brawlers and poptart IS heavies/assaults will still be dominate. The Summoner has a good chance to be a good poptart mech but it's armor is lacking. The popular TW is nothing more than a faster Cat with better brawling ability.

I'm pretty sure the DEVs stated that Clan Tech will be balanced against I.S. Tech.

Burst/stream firing instead of front loaded damage looks like the way they will do it.

EDIT: Longer beam duration for lasers as well.

You underestimate Paul's ability to break things.

The Clans are Batman, Paul is Bane, and that cracking sound you hear was the spine of the Clans being broken over his knee.

according to the latest NGNG podcast with Russ, the MM will not only be going 4x3 and Team, but the stretch goal is to match Clan Mechs, too. So if One team gets a Heavy Clanner, if possible the otther one will, too.

they never bother to balance by weight so why clans. Now we will see matches with 12 clans and 500 tons more vs IS and 500 tons less. gg close.

Probably the same odds of PGI making sure the number of metabuilds per team are equal.

So sad how horribly they are nerfing clantech. 5 tons. What a joke.
