To bad the "old" ones will win, because the new ones look really nice for the cocpit hangers (check the lan pack page to see them. ) but i fully understand why people feel they want the traditional style. If i was going to be playing as Jade Falcon or Smoke Jag... I´d most likley cry my self to sleep as you will be stuck with tooth-pick pidgeon blob and grey potato blob.

Fortunate enough i am a FRR guy so this really does not impact me....

I like the new reimagined style, but they don't look like something I would expect to find on a military vehicle as what really amounts to a national emblem. If it were WWII nose-cone art, sure, but generally speaking national emblems tend to be simple, high-contrast affairs.

I particularly like the flair of the falcon wings in the new version. Still, my vote goes to the classics.

As someone who rarely visits the forums, I thought it was important to show the logos at the size they appear in game. My biggest complaint about the Modern designs when they first came out was that it was just hard to recognize them in-game. The Classic designs, except for CSJ, fix this issue for me.

The biggest strength of the Modern designs was that each had a distinct choice of colors. The vibrant colors didn't really mesh with the colors of the IS icons, but at least none of them looked too similar. Unfortunately, the Classic designs for CGB and CJS, when scaled down, both share an overall grey color. I think Jman also made this point earlier in the thread. Having said that, I think the Classic CSJ is the weakest of the four Classic designs. More blue from the background elements and/or a slight shift toward brown on the jaguar itself would probably make it distinctive enough.

As a package, I personally prefer the Classic designs over the Modern, largely for maintaining consistency with the IS art (but also a bit due to nostalgia and general aesthetic). If the Modern versions win the vote however, I think I'd like to see the IS logos redesigned in a matching style.

Blow are cropped screenshots of what the two designs look like on the in-game scoreboard. I didn't have one saved with all the IS factions represented unfortunately.

Tough call... I went traditional. The new Ghost Bear and Jade Falcon logos look to be an upgrade, but the Wolves and Jaguar were a little too intense for me. Perhaps a toned down Wolves red and a... I don't know... ghostly grey Jaguar would have been slightly better. Tone down the red and make the Jaguar less black panther and more ghost jaguar, and I'd have changed my vote.

Like the new Smoke Jaguar and Jade Falcon, Wolf and Ghost Bear are just awful :-p Adjust those two and I think you're fine.

EDIT: Yeah the more I look at it... Classic Ghost Bear and Wolf new Jade Falcon and Smoke Jaguar, definitely Maybe give the classic bear and wolf some HD polish but keep the general look of them.

I was just thinking the same thing. The classic version of CGB is awesome, im 50/50 over clan wolf, the classic SJ one is better, but always thought the classic JF was a bit naff.. ..still I have to vote with preference for CGB so classic it is.

Ghost bears badly need some face-angle adjustment, as previously stated.

Jade Falcon's new thing is great, except we can't see the hilt due to funky shading.

Wolf could stand to be a bit shaggier imo, but I like the new one.

New Smoke Jaguar is best Smoke Jaguar. That thing looks badass.

Overall, I rather like the new logos, even if minor adjustments could make them a bit better. I'd say that all of them but Ghost Bear's were improvements.

I like the modern with all but the CSJ Banner. That one is ALL WRONG. So I am forced to vote Classic.

Well, I voted classical, but honestly?

I do like most of the re-imagined ones. The problem is that they are just so cluttered they become a colored blur when reduced to the size seen in the pre-launch screen. The Clan Wolf is especially notable for how bad it is. The stars are barely apparent, and the head and banner becomes a black/red blob.

Of course, now the Smoke Jags are going to get the short end with their cat logo disappearing into the banner...

I am not say that at that scale the original IS logos were works of art, they are not. But you can tell that the Steiner fist is a fist, the Marik eagle is actually a bird, and the Kurita dragon actually looks like the snake it is supposed to be (okay, eastern dragon, but really, who is paying attention?).

You really should have allowed us to vote on them individually. There are some that I like classic and some new. You're forcing us to choose a whole set.
