So the instant target loss and the gattling Horn are the golden ones, since they aren't listed in the Maserati package.

I wonder whats the hangign cokcpit item for the goldoes, possibly a gold nugget? xD

I had no problem with the Heavy Metal, since it was usually 1 or 2 mechs per game.
But a melee of 5 or 6 mechs getting killed with war horns playing might not go down so well....

IMO the sounds should all have been a bit shorter and more generic like the truck horn, but that's just me.

But open to hearing it in action before filing it as a negative

Please, please don't allow that the Radar Deprivation will be available for other users but the ones that buy a Khan Package.

Just to make it clear - i didn't buy a golden mech - even when you would give them ECM (much better as that module) or IS Modification abilitys with 4 Omni Pods in each location i wouldn't have bought them.

Warhorns ... first impressions, visual and audio ... (spelling mistakes are yours, PGI)
- Preasure Chamber - Visual: simple - Audio: air raid
- Rec Room - Visual: plastic - Audio: doppler
- Screaming Surat - Visual: funky - Audio: very nearly the most annoying noise in the game
- Speaker Sonic Boom - Visual: borg - Audio: wub wub wub, squeak, wub wub
- Lunch Truck - Visual: busy - Audio: Solaris VII
- Kickers - Visual: modder - Audio: wub wub wub, fart noise
- Gatling Horn - Visual: huh? - Audio: horns
- Envious Eardrum - Visual: cheap - Audio: chorus
- Clasic Isobaric - Visual: classy - Audio: foghorn
- Yard Sale - Visual: fuzzy? - Audio: godzilla roar

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't buy them on purpose ... now if you could get George LeDoux to recreate some of the classics from MW4:M's Solaris VII arena ... Ka-POW!

In my imagination the Clan cockpits would look hightech and clean. Why are these visuals all based on bargain-bin looks from the local souvenir-shop? They will (hopefully!) not match the cockpits they are arriving in at all, and I doubt a member of a warrior society elite would decorate their "workplace" with tacky plastic toys.

(If he/she did, I would like to see the face of his/her officer during inspection...).

They are the bounty from captured stuff, so they make nice trophies. But seriously, aside the sonic Boom and Kickers they really look a bit too retro. maybe Eardrum too, if that was the green one, but green? seriously? why not white?

Officer@Inspection: What is that crappy thing?
Pilot: Warhorn.
Officer@Inspection: What does it do here?
Pilot: My Isorla to proll at those Surats
Officer@Inspection: Perfect!

@Karl, and the mods won't be available to others, at least if it keeps to what was said in the "Ask me anything" But still I think its better giving everyone that possibility to get these modules. Maybe for a horrifying price like 100million Cbills. Otherwise p2w QQ's incoming.

Exactly the reason that Clans can do this in MWO is simple - history has already changed.... instead of fighting on real worlds all fights take place on Solaris 7 or Glatea - and the Clan members particicpating are no real clan members but clowns and bandits - that taken freedom over tyranny

OK, I listened to the sounds.......

I would like a way to disable the warhorns as an in-game sound option.

I do not like them, and will not be using them.

At the very least, please consider giving us a volume control for the warhorn.

Just honest feedback.

I would like to request a MUTE button for the warhorns in the Audio Settings, please! I want to hear pew-pew, dakka-dakka, and wub-wub noises, not those godawful warhorns.

I support this request.

Try reading it again.

The Clan technicians could not put it on the Clan rebuild of the mech.

But then - actually reading what people wrote is soooo hard.

Edit: spelling

I read what you put, you dont have to be a jackass about it because I dont agree with you being wrong.

You're talking about a battlemech that doesn't exist yet, for a character who is not in the game, so your example of "Phelan Kell's Wolfhound IIC" is irrelevant.

Wolfhound (3052) http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Wolfhound

Current Timeline 3049* (Go read the dev post)

did you miss the part where the Wolfhound isn't in the game?

I can be snippy too.

Someone with a video editing software should whip a quick montage of a generic battle recording with one of these overlaid on top every time a mech is destroyed.. the we can get a rough idea of a typical battle with warhorns installed

The only good thing about the Radar Deprivation module is that everyone will be packing one, thus reducing the number of possible airstrikes in high level matches.

But seriously, I would be really mad if I burned GXP and C-Bills on LRM-enhancing modules, just to have them nerfed by this one.

In order for Warhorns to survive public opinion, there must be something special and elegant about it. So, two things should be done so that this yet to be released feature has some sort of viability:
  • Allow the removal of the physical representation on cockpit. It makes NO SENSE. Why not use one of the monitors instead to display any kind of graphics related to it? If the sound is heard outside, why the hell the pilot wants the speakers facing him inside the glass? It makes NO SENSE.
  • The Warnorn CANNOT fire all the time anyone is killed. Make it special. Reserve it for "First Blood", "Last Kill" and maybe (maybe) for Saviour Kills. Alternative: reserve it for Hero/Prime/Phoenix/Founder mechs.
So, in the worst scenario, we will hear these sounds 23 times in a match. That will totally break immersion. Note that I am assuming IS mechs will have this feature as well.
