Not sure if it is just me, but these airstrikes and arty seem to be getting out of hand now. Just about every match I wind up in, I see four, five, six, hell even seven go off all around me.I have even had assaults trying to drop them on me when I am running around solo in a medium.

Ya ya, learn to play n00b, keep moving, general forum trolling. Whatever...

I am not complaining about the damage they do and I really want them to stay in the game, they are a good mechanic for pushing heavy lines. I just think they are way to cheap and easily spammable, especially with so many premade groups in queue. I mean seriously, a medium laser costs two times more than a airstrike does. Really? People can drop both strikes in a match and still make a profit when they win. Hell some can even turn a profit on a loss.

I think the strikes should cost a lot more than they currently do, maybe then people would use them for heavy clusters of enemy mechs' instead of tossing them all over the place in hopes of hitting something slow.

All damage adheres to rules and balancing. Arty/airstrike are the exception, it's free damage (not cbill free, tonage free). You can only buy so much with cbills and they start to become meaningless.

They are more prevalent, but very easily avoided. I think they add a nice touch to the game dynamic.

They would be, if they couldn't be spammed within mere seconds..

Just keep moving and laugh 'em off. The guy just wasted a module space and cbills.

Longer cool down is all it needs.

Wouldn't be surprised if it seems like they're going off all the time cause you're also seeing some of your own team's arty/airstrikes raining death and destruction.....

As a light pilot I always carry them when I play.

When I find 4-6 mechs standing nuts to butts... I offer them an incentive to move.

So don't blame me if I drop an arty on your head...

20 shells at 20 damage each.

Increase cooldown to 15 seconds.

More damage than the current arty, won't instagib anything, unless you're unlucky. Can't be thrown down every 6 seconds.

4 seconds from smoke to first shell, 6 seconds from first shell to next smoke, very spammy.

a kind of message (airstrike/artillery strike incoming eg) would be nice.

A warning would be good to at least react to it.

Well... when you are huddling together in a big blob and a light jumps over you or runs past... you just got your warning.

if hit-detection would work properly, lights wouldnt just jump over or run by a blob of mechs.

Love it when someone tries to hit my lone light on a hill with arty...makes me laugh at the way they just wasted it and happy that they now cannot use it on tougher targets on my team

IMHO; they should make arty/air a light mech only module. It fits into the ligh mech role and it will limit the number of strikes in a match significantly.

And they should make the strikes unable to hit the head hitbox. That's just too much RNG

Yeah, if only there was some visible signal that an air/arty strike was inbound. ;)

What you won't see though, is the entire enemy team moving up to a better position ;)

That's one of my favourite uses for Arty/Air, to remove the spotters from their hidey hole. Might not hit them, but they duck back into cover and by the time anyone checks again my team is 200m closer and charging.

They definitely need a c-bill cost increase and cooldown increase, though. Now it's a no brainer to take them, even if I miss with it I still make my money back and then some. Arty/Air need a downside, imo. Cost is that downside.

I agree.

Make them more expensive especially for the lights, as it is still not hard enough for them to earn C Bills.

The little buggers.

Great, we get more hand-holding to compensate for a player's lack of situational awareness.

What is the big bright read smoke for then?

:)
