This is tempting. I like my swayback.
My only issue is that, in theory, I could just take the $55 and use it to buy MC, use them to buy some stormcrows later, and still have plenty leftover.
But you'll miss out on the sexy special Stormcrow with the bonuses!
Or you could go for a Nova, which is a slightly lighter Swayback IIc with EVEN MORE HARD POINTS!

In theory anyways - we don't know how much they will cost in MC or Cbills yet, unless I missed an announcement...

With its missile launching hunches, it's about the same height as the Wolverine (the shortest of all 55 ton Inner Sphere mechs).
Gif comparing the two shortest 55 ton Inner Sphere mechs. Warning; Animated. Warning: Large file size.

They seriously need to reconsider the ala carte prices, or offer some bare bones versions without the premium time or fluff attached. I just want the mechs, not the pork.

Considering some 55 ton IS innersphere mechs are the size of highlanders, its not exactly a good baseline to use. but i'm sure that is exactly the though process PGI went with

They're not, actually.
Highlander outsizes the Shadowhawk (tallest one) by 3 meters.
The Atlas outsizes the Shadowhawk by 3.39.
Banshee does it by 5 meters.

You didn't. Or, if you did, then so did I. I did look at the sarna.net price for the stormcrow and the nova. If they keep the same MC scale and the same sarna prices, then a preorder bundle is much better than using MC.
I broke down and bought a blackhawk pack.

I was using a hyperbole but if you want to be technical; Battlemaster
but my point still stands, not a very good comparison to use when they are of comparable height to mechs 30tonnage classes higher.

how come some of them have the little hands and some of them dont?
If you remove the hand actuators (there's a little checkbox for it above the crit slot display on the arms) the hands disappear.
