They weren't as annoying and numerous as I was expecting. Mute would be nice, but for today I'm ok with them.

I would love to sound a warhorn just before engaging someone. I dont know why but to me that would be epic.

They need to add a Drop-Down-Menu where you can choose between:"Play all Warhorns", "Only play own warhorn", "Mute Warhorns".

Please PGI, make it happen! I watched Seans stream yesterday for about two hours...and the warhorns already annoyed me quite badly. After hearing the same dubstep nonsense for 500000 times, it's enough. This isprobably the most "anti immersion" thing they put into the game yet.

What I would like to see is the Warhorn's being an active use key press, and only activates for a single press on certain conditions (and do not stack).

So perhaps on first sighting of the enemy, your button activates..... you press it (along with your whole team) proclaiming your fearlessness to your enemy. The button is now inactive again until you make a kill, and then it activates again. Once you press it, it goes away until you make another kill. If you make 2 or 3 kills without pressing it you still only get one press.

This would greatly cut down on how much you hear the horns, as players will forget to press them in the heat of battle, and if they're on a roll, they'll still often only get one horn blat at the end.

Wow, like I said after the initial upsurge of interest due to the clans arriving you're left with an unbalanced, pay to win, twitchfest that will have an even smaller player base.

CW: Bassy Howl
CJF: Treble-y Loud Bird Screech or Echoing Caw. (Or a baby robin chirping, depending on you feel about them.)
CSJ: Fading Jaguar Roar
CGB: Cacophonous Bear Roar

Will see if I can produce some examples.

I'm glad I paid money into a game that won't allow me to hear sound effects anymore thanks to the pre-teen crowd and the fancy noisemakers PGI has seen fit to give them to play with.........makes the game OH so much better.

+Theire appearance is disgusting and they are terribly missplaced. Maybe place them next to the seat like those IS-Banners. So you only see them when you use free-view.

If you are going to subject people to the noise, I am fine with it being in your way visually. In fact they should make them a little bigger.

i like the idea of a wolves howl, falcon screech, jaguar hiss or bear roar... it would FIT the clans.. maybe even Isobaric, as War of the Worlds referrence..

This kiddie-party sounds not so much.

This joke video turned out to be mostly true during the test.

Dubstep, Whales Communicating, War of The Worlds.

And it was annoyingly stupid.

Dear lord... I had no idea just how ANNOYING and STUPID these warhorns were going to be until I heard that video. An audio recording of this video should be put on the voicemail of every person at PGI who thought this was a good idea... ugh!

Looks like I'll be playing with sound off after this ill-conceived disaster is introduced to the game...

I'm honestly trying to come up with some reason to enjoy this game post-Clan... near obsolescence of every IS mech I have, and annoying, loud noises on top of it... yeah... PGI, you're really not make a case for MWO at this point... Did somebody say Star Citizen was a good game? Well... it's not yet a game... but it doesn't have warhorns that drill obnoxious noises into your head, either, and that's a plus.

If they were the whale song... yeah... that would be awesome, a Clan whale song accross the battlefield...

And for us in the north of England.

(Just in case it needs to be said, PGI i am not serious. :D )

Took a quick 30 minutes or so to find some sounds and an editor.. so made some very rudimentary, but arguably more appropriate War Horns.

Clan Ghost Bear:

Clan Jade Falcon: (Note- Yes it is an eagle.. but if someone can make something terrifying out of a peregrine sound, be my guest.)

Clan Smoke Jaguar: (Probably my least favorite.. but then, Jaguars don't make all that much noise comparatively.)

Clan Wolf:

War horns are a perfect representation of the weak ass, Nintendo arcade BS PGI has brought to Mechwarrior. That crap should be saved for Solaras where it belongs.

Yeah, I think the warhorns are ********....

Not much "war" to them really....

Just like what happens when a little kid gets ahold of a piano..
