Maybe I just grew into it too fast, but I think they should stick to canon rules as much as possible.
And like I was taught in school, if one of the students (OmniMechs) can do something in class, why can't all of them? (This would mean making other OmniMechs such as the Adder have removable equipment that was once fixed, and next thing you know OmniMechs are more powerful than IS BattleMechs in every regard)

never played a mech with more than 2 JJ in MWO ever, usually play with just 1 JJ, just played 5 games with the Summoner and i would never in a million years guessed there was more than 1 or 2 JJ on it
having 5 JJ on it is a 3-4 ton nerf on the mech

The summoner and the nova suffer not from the fact that they have lots of JJ's, but that the current JJ system does not insentient the use of more then one or two of them.
There are a handful of things from Hill climb exploits with minimum JJ's, to the fact that the initial thrust is more important then the sustained thrust, But the point is that currently .5- 2 tons for a single piece of equipment is enough to get you everything you need.
This is a bigger issue then the fact that they have 5 hard wired to them.

hard wired JJ should weigh less than added JJ since jury rigging and/or 'plugs' always weighs more than incorporated

i vote for the removal of the Timby-S
JJ on the timberwolf is unnatural

Yes, I read your post. Apparently you don't understand me. I don't want to see more viable meta poptarts. Your argument is making the Summoner "more competitive", I don't see the point of that.
The meta version can already be made (Gauss + ER PPC). Adjusting the JJs won't mean a thing in terms of "meta-fying" it. It means being able to add an (S)SRM or LRM launcher with a ton or ton.5 of ammo. That's all. Unless you consider (S)SRMs or LRMs "meta" as well...

I agree with topicstarter. Too much indirect clanners nerf. It is strange when c-wepon systems weight ~10-15% less but clanner weight capacity 50% less than IS. For instance I cant create loadout as balistic CTF-IM. And this is with nerfed balistic... Many builds are impossible but gauss-PPC meta still present. Omnipods is a good idea for nerf omnimechs. But things such 5 fixed jj or engine that I and many other people have never used on hevy mechs... Sad. For instance it would be better to have jj and dhs fixed customizeble slots, not fixed jj.
