That moment when you curse the matchmaker for dropping your Prime Warhawk into Terra Therma, only for your team to utterly destroy the opposition.

2x2 ER PPCs are lethal if you're able to properly aim them and stay the **** behind allied mechs.

Good experiences all around. Found my 70 CLRM/4xCERML/CERPPC B and my CGauss/2xCERPPC/3xCSRM4 Prime to be quite enjoyable to pilot - the weird cockpit camera bug is fixed.

Fast, potent, better hitboxes than the Dire Whale. All's good for me.

Despite a series of horrid 12-1 wipes today and dealing less then 350dmg in every...single....game....I still like the Warhawk.

It does take a good beating. Its fun to be shell-hacked by swarms of LRMs, see my armor stripped off several spots and the mech still standing, not missing half its guns and everything else.

Unlike the Victor I had on Live.....thing was critical CT damage before I had fired 3 salvos of anything.

Highlander loses it's right side in seconds...

Hawk seems to have really nice hitboxes.

Now if only the Lasers on the thing didnt look like little.....nubs? Make the PPCs longer and make the Lasers the same size as the PPC now...that would make it look beast.

The variants need a bit more variety as far as locked internals in my opinion. The Prime makes sense to have so many heatsinks but the other variants don't have that according to lore. The left torso in particular needs some looking at I think. Fitting enough ammo is very difficult with how packed the mechs are. But overall they play really well and the hitboxes are great.

Just had a match that really let me take advantage of my 4 ER PPC. Had a group that actually lasted long enough. Let me cover for cool downs. Were able to hold their own in a firefight and knew when they were outmatched. I want that group again lol.

Ended with 3 kills, 7 assists, 10 component kills, 615dmg...a win.

Unfortunately, I also got a TK on a friendly Stormcrow. On those dark ass, semi laggy maps, its hard to tell whose who. Sorry Mr Stormcrow guy.

Warhawk is a nice one...

And on the omni pods, when will we get a Ballistic Omni pod for hte torso that lets us mount a GR in the torso and LRMs on the other side? Then I can make my Masakari loadout from Mechcommander.....4 ER LL, 1 GR, LRMs....lol. I look forward to more omni pod options on these mechs. They are a fair bit more customizable then I first thought, but still a bit limited on pod options.....A Dual Ballistic Omni pod for both arms?

Also, on the matter of camo options, will the Clan Mechs have access to all the camo of the IS Mechs?

I played several matches during the Clan Trail. I did have one question about the Warhawk. In the live game, will we be able to access or do anything with the Left Torso's. Every time I tried to access them in the Test games, the left torso was shadowed and didn't allow me to do anything with them. Even when trying to use the Omni feature. maybe this is a glitch, or maybe you designed it that way. Sure would like to know. Thanks and Good Hunting.

the war-hawk shares its lower body with the DW.
posted this on the Dire Wolf thread too.

Quote

I think the walking animation of the dire wolf war-hawk is a little bit inertia-less for a 100 85 toner. The movement spikes are often seen as jumping up and down at full speed (apart from some twisting and movement glitches).

in contrast, the timber wolf while being more agile, has a way better walking animation loop resembling both agility and inertia with no sudden spikes in angles or position.

Not really good with 4 ER PPC's, but can be good with mixed utility setup of 2 ERPPC's and LRMs or SRMs as needed. Basically stalker 2.0 without the high mounted energy and a speed boost.

That depends entirely on your team. I've had matches on cold maps where I would barely be able to fight back...and I've had one match on Terra Therma where I really put the hurt on the enemy...

Tried a 2 ERPPC / LBX20 '*(and not clan AC witch are not efficient, i wont use them).

Fire only the PPCs for distant targets... And since the weapons have the same duration, alpha them on close targets.

I tell you, it is a ROFL machine like my misery.

Don't mind me trying this out once Clan mechs go live. :)

Actually, they do have the same minimum amount of heatsinks across every variant. It's locked because it's an omnimech and the 20 DHS stuck in place are due to the Battletech construction rules.

The Warhawk does have builds that produce less heat but it does so without making use of those extra heatsinks that are still locked in place. The A and B variants are prime examples of this. Don't believe me? Here is an .html record sheet from Solaris 7.com: http://www.solaris7....Info.asp?ID=620

Can't wait until the targeting comp actually does something so the Warhawk isn't stuck with 7 tons of deadweight.

C-ERPPCs feel somewhat underwhelming, especially for the absurd heat they generate. The C-LPL and C-ERLL are far better weapons.

I mention this here because the viability of the Warhawk-P is directly related to the viability of the C-ERPPC.

I ran this monster stock alot Sunday. 4 ERPPCs and an LRM 10. I kept getting over 600 damage games with the stock loadout. It has to be one of my fav Clan mechs so far with how good the stock loadout is. Its heat is VERY nice having that many Double heat sinks inside it. Though, don't alpha!

Its walk cycle is a bit odd. I am sure its been mentioned but the animations on the Dire Wolf and Warhawk need to be tweek'd a bit.

Seems like a good mech. Less firepower than the dire wolf, but more mobile. Spreads damage nicely.

You will never see me equip the 3 energy hardpoint arm, however, unless you reduce the energy cooldown penalty.
I wanted to make a nova cat build with 2 erppcs and 3 er large lasers, but I changed my mind when I saw that.

For the same reason: I saw a guy with 4 erppcs and a flamer. I LOL'd. Talk about 'not worth it'.
