Then from my observation even IS pilots threw cation to the wind and played like it was the last day on earth... It was such a murderballing meatgrinder like i have not seen since beta. I am sure that once people settle in to the new dynamic IS mechs wil be back in a good place again. Heck IS lights are still the best hit n run mechs in the game and last i heard the pop-tar meta is still alive and well.
Also keep in min that a lot if Clan mechs carry the majority of their firepower in the arms unlike a lot if IS mechs, so take those out with your trusty AC/20 and bobs your uncle

I paid more for Clans, so there goes your entire pay2win argument.
Actually if his argument was that the game was P2W then you just validated it by admitting you paid more for a more powerful (in theory anyway) set of tools.
I think before anyone starts claiming that the sky is falling we need to wait and see what substandard game mechanic the min-max crowd finds to exploit with the Clan Mechs. At this point in time, based on the couple of matches I played on the PTS and the videos out there, I think claiming the Clan Mechs are OP is a bit premature.

The good IS mech will stay good even after the clans come. They can do things the Clan mechs can't.

What basis are you using for this?
The I.S pilots aren't screwed. Clan mechs die just like any other mech. Take deep breaths - Tuesday is coming soon and we will see.

Those poptarts were consistently performing better than clan mechs on the test server.
Everyone worried about the sheer amount of weaponry clanners can bring needs to remember that the IS still have the woefully overpowered PPFLD builds.
That more than balances it all out.
Edit: stupid phone.

Clans rely on damage over time, and may seem stronger at lower Elo levels but once you get into more skilled play, the front-loaded damage of IS mechs is still going to keep them competitive. Clan autocannons are not nearly as effective as IS autocannons, and Clan's only have high-heat ERPPCs that still do the same 10 damage as low-head IS PPC's.
As such, the PPC/AC5 mechs are still going to be quite effective, and IS will continue to rule the poptart thing.

In the hand of a novice, a clan mech would be demonstrably worse than an IS mech, because of build limitations, longer laser burn times, heat, etc.. but in the hands of a skilled player using it for its purpose.. it is advanced as it should be.
PGI just about nailed it.

Play yourself tommorow, and come back with an INFORMED opinion instead of a second hand one.

Played 8 matches on the PTS exclusively with SRM mechs and the trial mechs and I did 300-700 damage each.

Which also means more money in the end. (Even in losses, I managed to make between 150k-200k cbills simply from the extra damage.)
