Your estimations are complete nonsense, it's like you can't even open a simple website. Oh wait, you apparently can't. Plus you have blatant inaccuracies where you're counted as a member for even creating an account on the forums as with some other organizations.
The entire "I'm not telling you how I got this!" nonsense only makes you look like an even less reputable source then 'random internet d00d' already does.
I sincerely apologize that my forum post wth pre-stated inaccuracies has upset you quite deeply. Unfortunately not all unit websites openly display the number of true mechwarriors in the unit. Therefore I base my estimates on the number of forum members on the unit website. Because this is misleading, I always include the word "estimated" in my presentation of mercenary data.
As for the forum members on mwomercs.com, I wrote the program myself that searches info from every profile on this site, stores it in a database, and returns the relevant percentages, numbers, and figures for me to edit before I post it to the forums. It is based entirely on the website and I am willing to bet it is accurate within 1%. This is data that anyone could gather themselves and is available to the public. I just made a faster way of getting it.
I can't scour unit websites as easily, because they are all different and sometimes poorly coded. So I rely on other avenues. Most of the units on there have sent me their exact numbers, so they are for the most part accurate.
If you feel you can improve on my work I openly encourage it, as I hate to cause you this much discomfort over the issue.
I hope the rest of your day goes better.

No, you're missing the point; the OP claims to have all of this priceless data, we can't see, which accurately reflects the gaming environment as is, when it's really worth less then the sweat of your back. I don't care who has entirely too much disposable income, nor do I particularly care that we were miscounted. Rather, I'd like to have the OP admit his data gathering is subpar at best and cease attempts to claim otherwise and mislead others or I can continue pointing such out.
Remember, children should be seen and not heard.
...Where to start?
1.) First off, concerning Merc Corps: In the past, he's pointed out that the Mercenary Corps represented were around ~7.24% in the pie chart, and that they were based off data collected (Likely from forum statistics) or data reported, which your corp could have done. A lot of these notes are missing this time, but this is due to the fact that he's using different software due to college licensing agreements, something that a kid in college, with little disposable income, has no control over.
2.) The OP doesn't need to admit anything concerning the quality of his data gathering. There were no guarantees made concerning the quality or the accuracy. He actually didn't even make claims to accuracy, nor did he make claims of "having all this priceless data that accurately reflects the gaming environment".
He simply presented some statistics.he gathered using certain methods, take them or leave them.
3.) While it doesn't matter if he looks like a "reputable source" for data, the reasons the OP have given are perfectly fine. He's staying partially in character when he flavored his first post as an "Anti-Comstar" agent, and he should have a shtick to call his own if he wants to, especially if he never guaranteed anything. Furthermore, I have a very good idea on how the OP obtained his data, and that the data is accurate as far as the statistics for this forum goes... but I can also tell you that he shouldn't reveal his methods simply because they may or may not be considered a violation of this websites Terms of Use policy (And if he's a beta tester, the NDA as well). It's better for everyone if he just keeps these methods to himself. The OP obviously has an interest in netcode, that is all.
At the end of the day, it's fine to question the validity of the data presented. Has the OP presented everything perfectly? Far from it. But he is making an earnest effort to provide something extra to the community, at no cost, and in his free time as a college student with little disposable income, at that.
No, the problem isn't Hawkeye, the problem is YOU, Sporkosophy, and your venomous tongue (Or keyboard fingers, in this case).
I have no idea where such spite comes from, especially considering you're among a seemingly well-meaning Brony corp that's excited about the upcoming game. Your response wouldn't be tolerated on your own corp's forums, considering the rules there, and really, it goes against the for-fun attitude that ELP was founded on.
What I do know is that if this is your typical response to everything... then by wearing that badge in your signature you're doing the fine corp of ELP a disservice, as your attitude is the type that drives away new members looking to join a for-fun merc corp. I know that I wouldn't want to be in company with such negativity on a daily basis.
There's very little left to say on the matter. I do hope you apologize.
I suppose in the end, I'll leave you with this:
If Friendship is Magic, then you, sir, are counted among the most vile and basest creatures of this world.

Indeed, the next update probably won't be until next weekend at the soonest. The statistics do not fluctuate enough in a few days to warrant an update that quickly. Plus I actually like to play video games too
EDIT: While I appreciate the defense and the....ahm...criticisms, let's make sure to keep this thread relatively flame war free to avoid a shutdown.

Yes. Either the mercenary units send me the data themselves (and sometimes I will get multiple individuals whose data conflicts) or I check out the unit website and get an estimate off either their official roster or the number of forum members. A lot of times this info is restricted for users not registered to the site, and I refuse to sign up for 50+ websites just for statistics

Oh, hey, assumptions! If what I typed actually hurt anyone's feelings, I'd advise them to get used to it; that's life.

Oh, good rhetorical strategy; making sure anyone who points out the inaccuracy of your data is regarded as someone unstable or unable to cope with common life situations.

Except the data is not that accurate, as has been pointed out. Way to dodge that question, skippy.

Most corps have a public area on their forum where you can post and ask stuff like member count. I guess the least you can do if you plan on putting numbers next to names is take 1min30sec to make sure it's accurate?
That's all I have to add.

I'm happy to know they're making good money without needing a greedy publisher to fund it. Games don't fund themselves kids and most companies are forced to resort to a publisher to get it funded. This results in the publisher taking creative control, cutting out anything they don't feel important, and rushing it to a deadline for max profit.

Way to divert attention from the matter at hand Goon. I've said I don't care about the founders stats, merely the misrepresentation of the mercenary numbers. Because, bringing up a legitimate issue of validity is OBVIOUSLY shitposting.

When a member of yours requested the unit be included in the stats, I went to your website. Most of the domain areas were restricted for nonregistered users, and nonregistered users are not allowed to post on your forums. I was unable to find any unit roster that was available to non-members, and I have a policy of not personally asking unit commanders for their unit size to avoid being a pest/solicitor.
I don't register on unit sites either, because there are so many and I don't need to wade through that many confirmation emails.
Therefore, I took the member count of the forum and used it instead. I only included your unit because someone asked me to, and if I had known you guys would throw this big a stink about it, I would never have done so.
Next time I update, I will be sure to leave you guys out to avoid further complaints.
