Greetings!

Please tell us your thoughts on the C-Ultra AC/2 ballistic weapon system!

I would like to point out that having ghost heat on UAC2s is not possible unless the cool down is greater than 1 second. With a cool down of .8 seconds double firing a single UAC2 will trigger ghost heat because you will always be firing more than one shot in .5 seconds.

After firing a single UAC2 in double tap for 3.2 seconds you will have shot 8 times and the 9th shot will be treated as if you fired 9 UAC2 at the same time. The 10th shot will be counted as 10 UAC2s fired at the same time, so on and so forth.

To prove this, load up 2 ac2s in live and chain fire them with a .25 second pause. Your heat will rise exponentially.

Unfortunately I'm not set up to record my game play so I can't demonstrate this during the test. If you are interested in demonstrating this on test, load up a direwolf with 4 UAC2s and record firing the 4 in single shot mode till you overheat. Next fire just 2 UAC2s in double shot mode till you over heat. The two firing double will overheat faster than the four firing single.

This becomes most apparent when one UAC2 jams and the guns then get out of sync. The time from the guns getting out of sync to the mech over heating is only 5-6 seconds.

I feel the uAC2 is dramatically underpowered and mechanically broken due to ghost heat. In all honesty, the uAC2's mechanics combined with ghost heat require one of two things - either completely breaking it DPS wise, making all AC2's fire a burst of 3 shots for 2 damage each with a 1.5 second cooldown, or removal of ghost heat from the weapon system. The weapon simply fires too quickly for ghost heat to be a practical solution to massed uAC2 fire.

in addition, the impulse could probably go down a bit.

What does this mean for the Bane?

Or more importantly, the Deimos?

Have to say this weapon was easily the most disappointing I tried. The requirement to press fire every single shot took away about the only advantage of the ac2 - the ability to very accurately non stop fire into an opponent as you'd follow him using the rounds almost as tracer and could concentrate on aim with the mouse rather than having to pound the mouse button as fast as you could.

This weapon is completely gutless now and no sane person brings it to the fight if they have any other option. Since the UAC2 wasn't a balance problem to begin with it is bewildering why PGI nerfed it after the first test. A lot of things were done right during the clan packs, this was not one of them. This weapon is broken and useless.

I think you have to press each shot, because otherwise the recycle would be so fast you couldn't fire a single shot. I also think if you mistakenly double tapped 3, you would be getting ghost heat of 6. Don't know how to fix this.

the UAC2 was fun, who would not want a 4 shells per second long range machine gun, but I did not try boating it and only fitted one to a kit fix for 1 game

Also tried on my kitfox, using 2 uac2s I could lay down impressive suppressive fire and make snipers instantly back down from their sniper hills, damage was pitiful because of the jam rate. not a fan of ultra autocannons to begin with. Never have been but if it didn't jam so much I would use it.

Can't comment on boating or ghost heat tho

I agree with some of the other feedback here. The damage on the UAC2 is pretty pitiful. I tried two on my Kit Fox - and was severely disappointed. It was without a doubt the worst 3 damage scores I got all day. This AC jams way to frequently to be useful. There is definitely a ghost heat problem in there as well, I noticed really big heat spikes using two. It did however, do great for suppressive fire.
