pardon me if this is answered somewhere, quick search found nothing, but...

I cannot equip clan DHS into the empty spots in the clan XL engines at all... keeps telling me there is not enough slots?

The HS spots in the engine look empty, are they really filled?

Clan Engines are fixed to the center torso. No changes.

The Storm Crow, which has a 330 xl in it, doesn't even show any internal HS slots.

I know they're fixed...
but the engine is showing 5 empty engine HS slots, and it won't let me add HS to the engine HS slots

Clan engines and engine heat sinks are fixed.

No adding or subtracting HS to clan engines.
