Since the latest patch (v 1.7.3.0 ?), my video will freeze suddenly during a match. The game does not crash, and the sounds and inputs continue to function, but the image is frozen on the screen. Occasionally I am forced to listen as I am painfully torn apart in the midst of combat firing bitterly and wildly in the hopes that I might hit someone other than a teammate. I'm sure this appears very silly to the enemy and is very discouraging to my fellow teammates ("has that blackjack lost his mind?"). This effect is actually somewhat more tortuous than the rare crashes that I have experienced. This has happened on several occasions. It is catastrophic. My limited troubleshooting knowledge has not availed me. I am open to the possibility that it is something I have done and I am ready for suggestions. Please assist. I have invested significant value into the game and needless to say it, it is extremely frustrating to have to click the "Launch" button with great trepidation as I am liable to become about as useful as a disconnected player at any given moment, affecting my statistics and my team. A game that carries such a risk is not fun in any sense of the word. Anyone experiencing this issue?

I have run the repair tool and reinstalled several times. This seems to stave off the freezes for a handful of matches, but inevitably the bug returns. I love BattleTech and all things Mechwarrior and I am proud to support the game. I am scared to play, and the clans are about to launch! Please help!

Here are some of my system specifications if that helps:
Intel Core i7 950 (Bloomfield)
EVGA X58 SLI 3 Motherboard
12.0 GB RAM
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit operating system
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti (Gigabyte)
Primary Monitor Resolution 1920x1080

I have exactly the same problem.

Usually in the end it crashes to desktop.

Got the same problem, usually I trust in the ability to still be able to communicate and quickly type something out like: "Sorry, Screenfreeze" before pressing alt+f4

I have pretty much this same problem sometimes, except if I push alt-tab to minimize the game and then restore it the video starts responding again. I have a theory that it's because I tend to alt-tab at other times too, such as when I'm searching for a match, but it happens really randomly so I don't really know.

been seeing this off and on, and also, much more regularly, my screen darkening for several seconds, multiple times a match. My Clan Mates all report the same visual darkening at the same exact time, so it is not on "my end".

I swear somebody said they had issues with the Nvidia card after the patch until they updated the drivers for it. I know my AMD has'nt had a single hiccup.

Try alt tabbing out and then back in really quickly.

I would try the MWO Repair tool 1st to make sure you didn't get a Bad Downloaded File last Patch.

Oh, i'm not the only one with this issue?
Alt-tabbing fixes it for me by the way.

I've always had this issue .. always using the latest non-beta drivers on my Nvidia card. And to be clear I'm a system engineer and have dealt with computers since the age of C64, so my system is well taken care off. I got freeze frames once in a while, and had to alt-tab back and forth to relases it, but it happened like once a week.

However, since the last patch thing's gotten worse. I tend to experience the problem several times a day, and once in a while the whole thing CTD's. DX11 is even worse. Something is really wrong here, and the latest "stable" driver does not help.

I'm downloading the latest beta driver, against my religion, to see if that helps...

Me too, Good post too thanks for creating this topic. I've been having game freeze for like 10-20 secs and it will resume play. This happens almost twice a day for me after around 15 hours of play time on average. Also is anyone else getting the "Connecting Bug"? Its a bug that hangs your client up I think. I put in a ticket for support and they told me its a known issue and the dev's are unaware of whats causing it yet.

When I play the game first I log in- - - - (at the main menu now) - I select a mech - (Play) - - - - - - "Searching" - - - - (ingame I win and leave the match) - - - - - - (connecting  ) - - - - - - - Still connecting :P - - - - - - an hour goes by "still connecting" I cntrl alt del and restarte the game. I did this as an example but you get the picture. I had to do this like 30 times today....Ugh was such a pain. Every match I had it would do that and its becoming a huge problem cuz it consumes an enormous amount of my time. Taking up to 5 mins to load into the main menu cuz I have so many freakin mechs  Who else is having this issue?

I've had a frozen screen with the game still running in the background a few times (though not recently) and alt tab didn't work for me, though for some reason hitting ctrl alt delete then hitting cancel when the options come up (windows 7) would get me back in game.

Yeah, I've been able to do the same sometimes, too, when I've had this problem in the past.
