Buff The Is And Clan Small Lasers

There was no need to nerf the small lasers, now they are useless once again, all that was needed was a buff to the IS ones, eg shorter burn time and a slight dmg buff

Now I can't think of why I'd take 6 small lasers instead of 3 MLs, far more range, 3 less dmg but less heat, and I've done way more damage up front before they got within Small Laser range.

Unless there is secretly a new urban map where it will be a lot of close quarter fights and getting more shots off faster will matter :(

they decreased the damage of CLAN SL only...not IS ones.

oddly the upped the range?? was not expecting that.

Edit:
I still REALLY like the IS SL/SPL although I wouldn't mind another range increase on them. the cooldown and duration just hit the spot for me.

The main inbalance in energy weapons lies nowadays in C-ERML, which is way too good. Almost the same as IS LL for fifth the weight.

that duration on the C-ML kills me though.. it seems like an eternity..but yea 450-900m is out there

Clan ER small lasers need to go back to 5 damage and 180m range. This really hurts nova pilots since the ones who aren't poptarting with erppcs are usually running 12 smalls and 4MG. It also makes the weapon not worth mounting on anything over 50 tons. Before, 3 smalls on a heavy made for a decent backup with gauss level damage. The damage reduction was just enough to make it so that the 3 hardpoints and crits are better spent elsewhere.

yes I know, but the IS ones blew still, I'd rather see them on par with the (old)clan ones in terms of usability.

Apart from pulses, which are a mess as usual, Clan lasers remain vastly superior to their IS counterparts. The CERSL nerf only brought them from very silly OP down to silly OP.

I find that a small laser is a bit rediculous but it can be used as a zombie weapon because, better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. I use one on a mech which i group with its srms just cause one time i got zombied no arms and out of srm ammo, I was one shot away from killing a mech and missed the opportunity so i sparred the slot and .5 tons. They still are kinda hard to find usable.
