I did buy the direwolf cuz i love the catapults: jester and k2, feel like Timber would be too close them in gamestyle and make my cats never be played anymore...So i bought the direwolf.

- Did buy an atlas to test the last months and finnaly did good with the IS 100 tonner just to prepare myself to the DW.

Did try the public test with the dire wolf, and find the mech to be nothing like an atlas....The direwolf die fast!!!! its CT is like 90% of the mech. And to do good with it u need to play it like support assassin and attack when enemy are distracted, and i just want to play the "tank" :)

The atlas could go in absorb shots and deal dmg, even with big flaws it was fun. Guess i need alot more games with the DW to find the fun builds/gamestyle with it. guess its too late to switch package and get the TW now....

So i ask the timberwolf pilots, are u happy with your choice or are there some weaknesses to that chassis as well?? plz be something so i would not regret my choice too much ;)

just one last thing, iam not a noob, have high K/D and winrate even i only play pugs etcetc so dont troll

You can do anything with the timberwolf. It can accommodate any play style. The dire wolf needs support, and when you have it is absolutely ridiculously deadly. So many big weapons.

If you didn't like the Dire Wolf on the PTS, I doubt you'll like it much more tomorrow.

As for Mad Cat being similar to the Catapult...I think it starts and ends with the missile pods. The Mad Cat is much more flexible.

It's more like a Cataphract/Catapult hybrid.

I spent 10 hours on the test server yesterday and 5 hours on the first test. The Timberwolf would be my prime choice as its very nimble and fast on the battlefield whie also very flexible when it comes to builds. Its a winner without even really trying that hard.

The DIrewolf on the other hand i found surprisingly hard to use effectively. You have a huge amount of potential damage output but i found its hard to bring that to bare without absorbing enourmous amouts of weapon fire from everyone and their mom. I never had as much trouble using it as i did an atlas. There were several instanced while in my Timberwolf where i was able to escape after blundering into a group of enemy mechs, while the direwolf has no option but to engage and kill or be killed.

I got the Masakari package and the TW feels right to me for the Heavy, Feels Smooth and Nimble, as for the Direwolf I only played it a few matches and Yes it does feel way different than a Atlas , it is fun but CT death so fast . So it is best as a surprise attack mech or support if you aren't getting focused. All in all I am happy with all :)

I built my Timberwolf around Orion Protector, it was pretty awesome, ill try to do Cataphract builds and see how they fare.

Dire Wolf was a lot of fun. A continuous stream of chain-fire PPC's makes short work of pretty much anything. Throw in an LB20X for grins. I went all beams on my Mad Cat and had some good results, I just couldn't get LRM's to work for me. I would pretty much loose lock every time right after firing, even if the enemy was standing alone in the open in plain sight, once the missiles where in the air lock was gone. I'll have to add a TAG.
