Clan Tech: Patience. Relax.

I am not saying anything is OP or not. Like all, I have my theories. But these are based on a few matches that are skewed with new-mech fever and heavy with clan tech. Combine that with the "have and have not" culture PGI has unfortunately fostered with their clan mech release plan, makes for some passionate accusations.

I think we should try to refrain-from ALL "balance", "OP", and "pay to win" comments & threads, both for and against clan mechs, for about 2-3 weeks. (I can dream!!)

Then we might have a meaningful conversation at that time. Once some of the excitement is past. About the same time PGI has some good game balance data.

I'll tell you this: I was terrified of clan tech ruining MWO. I did buy two a-la-carte chassis because I love new mechs! I will wait to pass judgment. I encourage all to breathe and give it some time, because I need others to play! :-)

I am of the opinion, that Clan mechs and Clan equip are both stronger and they are so on purpose.

You don't get people to pay 4-5 times of triple AAA games price worth of money by giving them "balanced" stuff they already have. Actually you can do that, once. PGI already did this with the Phoenix pack. They are smart and have the carrot and the stick balanced against each other nicely.

My question is, what makes you think people like me are impatient? I am currently voicing my opinion, that does'nt make me impatient though. If you are talking about people throwing around insults, those should all get a grip on themselves, no matter which camp they are in, no matter the topic.

Nothing wrong with having different opinions. Best thing I can offer is to jump into a clan chassis and test both sides of the equation. I'm finding pros and cons to both sides and enjoying the discovery.

The best thing you can offer, is for us to spend more than the price of a AAA game, with all of it's content, so that we can post an opinion about a single mech in this game?

I'm sure there is no bias generated by hours of rib weakening laugher while obliterating the IS mechs on Clan release.
The facts are:

1) You can only buy them with macro transactions, and
2) They are more powerful than their IS equivalents.

Anyone who objects to these FACTS, has forked out the money already, and wants to justify the transaction on the forums.

Quit using logical fallacies to defend your ignorant position. In fact, the people who bought the mechs are the most qualified to discuss whether or not the mechs are overpowered. Using all capitals doesn't make you any less stupid.

I have more fun in Clan mechs. Not because I get kills or because they're more powerful - I like having a blue HUD, I like having a longer laser burn time, and I like having burst-fire autocannons. I'm a decent player, but I find that I miss a lot using single-shot ACs, PPCs, and IS pulse lasers because I have a bad tendency to jerk to the left or right when I pull the trigger. I'm good at aiming after-the-fact, however, so Clan mechs fit my playstyle much more closely.

In fact, recently I went back to playing my Atlases to finish off their Elite masteries. I was in constant awe about how I could walk up hills and shoot my PPCs at things by swiveling my arms (I had been playing my Direwolf pretty heavily).

So by your logic the only people that are able to say whether the clan mechs are overpowered are the people who have never piloted them?

No, I'm saying everyone's opinion is equal. I don't have to pilot a clan mech to have a valid opinion. I die so fast to them, I have plenty of time to spectate my team using them.

Nobody ever said your opinion was invalid. You announced that everyone who bought Clan mechs had an invalid opinion, which is more than a little stupid. You were making reference to confirmation bias, except that you were making the common fallacy of equating "bias" with "invalidity". A biased opinion is not wrong simply because it is biased; likewise, not everyone is suffering so badly from confirmation bias that they cannot give an objective opinion.

If you run out into the open and get shot to death by 3+ Clan mechs, you didn't die due to Clans being OP; you died due to an overdose of stupidity.

Calling an opinion a "fact" does not make it a fact. ;) Pretty funny how some folks' "facts" are more "fact" than others' "facts" in their own minds.

What I find encouraging is there are about as many people on here that say the clans are OP as there are people saying they are NOT OP.

As they have been for almost 30+ years. I look forward to them being even more OP before I get to send them back to their home worlds crying!
