Yes that will get you playing at a decent framerate. I bought mine from ibuypower.com in May 2011.

Should i still buy the elite?

It's up to you, just keep in mind that the founders package is a limited time offer but will be yours for life, whereas you can always get a new computer in the (hopefully not too distant) future.

I don't know canadian prices but a few things.

Mobo (don't need to spend any more)

GPU (this is the lowest you want to go with a new build)

With PSU's you want to keep to one of the good brands (corsair, seasonic, pc power and cooling, silverstone, some others) because of the internals they use. Higher quality, more amps and more stable amps delivered on the 12v rail. Longer life.

or depending on your final budget

Ram is dual channel, so you want 2 of whatever you get. Just look for a good 8gb (2x4gb) kit of crucial, kingston, or gskill 1333 or 1600.

In reviewing this post I realized that all of my major PC upgrades were to play newer versions of Mechwarrior over the years starting with Mechwarrior 2. It's time for me to find a new desktop system to have half a chance at taking some you out. :)

long time lurker, first time poster.

Thank you for posting the minimum and recommended. Looks like I'm close to recommended on my laptop, with only missing the RAM requirement. I feel better about laying down some $$ on a Founders pack. Now I just need to get paid.

I can probably search and find this, and should because I don't want to get attacked, I'm guessing the best controls are still a mouse and keyboard? I had the old Microsoft joystick with the torso twist option for an earlier MW title. It was a nice stick. But it seems these days there will be MANY controls and to take advantage of all you'll need the keyboard.
