Shadow Warrior! Dat katana totally stole the show in a big fxxking way. I would recommend to avoid spoilers though...it has a surprisingly sad ending. Marlow Briggs however is cheesy as heck and it was hilarious.
Also, Dead Space 1 was free on Origin a while ago....

Depending on what you're looking for. If you're looking for a story, Borderlands has an very interesting setting, but the story is told at a crawling speed. Also the first game's ending is a major letdown, which is only made up by the - you guessed it - second game. Other than that it's just a Diablo-style mega-lootfest plus some pressure-relief mindless shooting.

I have been reading reviews about it.

I think most of what is making it tempting is the FO3-esque nature of it (in a mirrored sense)
Edit: which I have been having trouble getting working on my current desktop

I hope you will find joy in the game, I heard so many good about it, but for me it failed
seriously, an atlas is a swift athlet compared to the guy you have to use in that game. after 1 hour I gave up on this game, the design of that superslow guy you had to play, with a felt like 1/3 blocked vision by its TP-View. Horrible to play. Would had more fun throwing 5€ out of the window seeing the coins jump and roll over the street.

Why would you do this? As soon as I have a game I'm interested in, I'll hop on. MechWarrior is like being home, your default state. Why force yourself there? Why not ...extend the pleasure a bit.

Well, I'm in a tournament right now, so I have to make sure I get my practices in so I don't embarrass my unit too badly. And considering I'm the drop caller...yeah. Then I have a couple of videos to finish up, including the latest in the Night Watch Armory series. And of course I haven't played MWO in a week because vacation (those fish aren't going to catch themselves!), so I kinda feel the need to play MWO anyway.
I know that once I start playing Skyrim it's probably going to exclusively gobble my time up for the next 100-150 hours of video game time, so need to make sure I have a decently free schedule for when that happens.

And people laugh when I say I learned more from playing video games than I ever did from school.
Haven't played KSP - but I would highly recommend the Civ series for similar educational fun.
