But what really has me confused is all these "supposed" Clanners with their Clan Faction, and their Clan warmachines - all seem to play with the same tactics and fire discipline that us "Spheroids" do. I mean if your a Clanner your supposed to almost live, breath and die one on one combat - and its only when they take fire from multiple sources that this one on one sh...uh theory goes out the window. So far its like a normal IS free for all cept with different mechs and weapons.
So I'm gunna say it...
GET YER ACTS TOGETHER VAT BORN ZOMBIES
If your a damn Clanner - fight like one!!!
sorry read to many Mechwarrior novels and needed the vent!!!!!

So which Clan conquered a world with just ONE Warrior? All Mary Sue aside, that was some shrewd bargaining.

Unlikely too, given the current propensity to hide behind ECM and rain LRMs from cover. We will be content to bring field support variants as well.

In all seriousness though, the only time you might see Zellbrigen actually enforced is in Clan vs Clan matches. For standard MWO play, Zellbrigen is already out the window before the drop starts, because you know they're going to use artillery, indirect fire weapons, and ganging up on single opponents.
One of the biggest issues in all mechwarrior games is the sense of "roleplaying honor." There is rarely any honor in an online game, especially when it comes to competitive matches where you play to win, however there is "sportsmanship," which follows you as a player and for your unit's reputation.
Clanners consider themselves above petty Inner Sphere bickering, but even in lore they often go overboard and are consumed by pride, leading them to engage in the same behavior they look down upon. True Clanners are there to show the Inner Sphere they are the future. They're calculated, professional, and relish the opportunity of a good fight.

Clan: I offer you a batchal
IS; is that a challange
Clan: Yes, with rules.
IS: Ok and the rules.
Clan: Are obvious, are you a simpleton
IS: No... What ever...
Clan: so the challenge is accepted
IS: Yes.. Can we go over the rules now..
Clan: Nope.. as i said it is obvious
Later on the battlefield
Clan: I challange you to Zhelbrigen
IS: Let me guess.. the rules are obvious
Clan: yes....
IS: Suuuure... Why not....
Clan: You broke the rules
IS: No i just followed my rules.. They are also obvious...
The clans where kind of posteriorprimates when it came to the whole batchal and Zhel issue.

and short of open comms, even Clan v Clan, it will be tough to pull off.

I do wish instead of hunting an ECM light mech at the end of the match that they would issue a challenge, though.

you are Marik, which is the highest order of Stravag to begin with........
I would love to see the Clan Mechs unable to mount Arty and Air, TBH, but I imagine the Comp QQ would be high (but hey, it would probably drive all the comp teams back to purely IS Mechs...since most Compies can spell Zell, that would be OK by me)

I would suggest you set up private matches with like-minded individuals that place roleplaying as a greater priority than winning the match.
That and I've seen some posters here with truly bizarre takes on clan honor. Like the guy that said clanners prefer to brawl (which was weird, as by canon clanners liked to fight at range and the Inner Sphere was constantly trying to pull them into close quarters where the range advantage was nullified), or the one that said that clanners consider ECM dishonorable (despite numerous front line mechs mounting it).

2xClan ERPPC + 2xClan Gauss.
Guess what mech can do that?

The clans did not have their weapons neutered by comstar (or if you prefer to view them as the standard, Comstar did not grant Inner Sphere mechs nigh unlimited customization...)
Also, I do make a point every once in a while issuing a challenge in solo queue.. never seems to get taken up.
