No, really. Yes, I know you're frustrated/angry/fussy/whatever. I get N.O.P.E and all the rest of that stuff. I've been vocal of my concerns about PGI on various topics.

For the love of god though at some point you need to move forward. If this were a relationship do you really want to be that crazy ex who still screams about that one time when you told her you were stuck in traffic instead of out with your buddies 2 years ago? Either move on and leave or put that stuff behind you and move forward with the game. PGI has been doing a great job on communication and a great job on content for the last few months. They did what they needed to do to show investment and consistency, now we can be responsible and move forward.

So get the effing TWolf. Seriously, just do it. It's $55 a la carte. Buy the other mechs with cbills or whatever but the TWolf you want now. Here is why.

First, it's actually a pretty good deal. You won't get it for 4 months otherwise (I have my objections on that but whatever) and in that 4 months you'll get a "AAA" title worth of use out of it. You get 3 mechs and 3 mech bays and the primary gets you a 30% cbill buff, which you'll need.

Why?

Because she's a dirty, dirty girl. She'll do anything. I mean it. She'll do it and she'll love it.

She's pretty, she prances, she dresses up nice for when you want to go out and she dresses all freaky when you want to get down and dirty. You name it she'll do it.

You want an LRM boat? She'll go 60 tubes and some CMLS, plus ammo and a TAG. You go 40 tubes and you've got JJs and tons of ammo. CLRMs have shorter flight time (faster) so you'll generally get more bang for your ammo tonnage.

Like the new SRMs? How about 4xSRM6A with more lasers than any Catapult can mount *total*. Plus jjs, btw. And plenty of ammo. Oh, and running about 90kph with tweaks. You liked the C4? Everything is C4 to a Twolf - cuz she's BLOWS IT ALL UP.

ACs? Pick your poison. 2xUAC10s (a favorite of mine) plus CERMLs and enough ammo and DHS to use them all non-stop. UAC20? Absolutely. How about 3xUAC5? A bit warm but it'll go full Ilya - with a JJ, if you have the trigger discipline to short 1 ton of ammo for it.

Laser boat? How about 7 CERMLs (which are like a 1 ton Large Laser, don't forget) plus some Streaks. Or LRMs. Or how about some MGs, just for kicks.

You like your Jag though, with the PPCs and the MGs? Hey, me too! How about 4MGs and 2 CERPPCs plus some lasers, JJs and enough DHS to use the PPCs effectively?

Streaks? Pile in the Streak-6, BAP and energy boat options that suit you. Destroy lights until you get tired of the little noises they make.

Frankenbuild the crap out of it. One of my favorites is a UAC20, FIVE TONS OF AMMO, 2 CERLLs (890m range, almost 12 damage each), JJs and enough DHS to literally fire it all until I get bored. I got a heat warning once. Once.

Poptart? Well, all depends. You want the C-Gauss, or the C-ACs to go with your CERPPCs with 15 damage each? With 5 JJs?

Oh, you liked the Victor? Okay, put a UAC20 (AC you can double-tap baby!) on the arm, 2 CERLLs on the other. Give her JJs and for that IS feel why not 4xsrm4s - just because you can. Iike a Victor - just with more firepower and maneuverability. you can go with the UAC10 for some more ammo and range, or whatever floats your boat.

Like most really crazy ones she's a little brittle. you need to be careful with her in that regard.

She's also got expensive tastes. Clan gear is SPENDY, which is where that 30% cbill bonus comes in. You want a shameless freak like this you need to expect to spend some money.

You won't regret it though. $55 for a Twolf will likely be the best money you'll ever spend on this game. If you don't you'll kick yourself later. It's not that it's the 'best' mech; it's that it's the most flexible. Limited mech bays? Get this and you can play pretty much any role you want. You can even sell the other two cores to free up the spaces and keep the Prime.

So just do it. I realize a lot of people have made a lot of promises and threats and complaints and forum rage threads and the like. I get it and I'm not even saying they're invalid. Not getting the Twolf though if you have any way to do it and plan on staying with the game is just shooting yourself in the foot.

Move forward, don't miss out on an opportunity you'll regret passing on.

Yeah the Timber Wolf is a good gal and all. But don't you think you're being rather obsessive?

What was the last 'excellent' all around mech? There's a lot of complaining on the forums. Some things are worth bragging up with the same effort and energy.

Thanks but I'll happily wait until it can be bought for C-bills.

In the meantime, the $55 I don't spend will go towards other stuff. Like maybe some more premium time.

Just had fun blowing up some Timberwolves in my CN9-A. Gotta say, after piloting Novas non-stop for a few days it feels good to have single-shot AC10s and short burn times on my medium lasers.

The Timberwolf is a great mech and I highly recommend that anybody who hasn't yet spent money on the game pick it up as their "buying this game" expense. You'll get a ton of bang for buck out of it.

But even if you don't, you can still experience the joy of blowing MischiefSC's baby up in your IS mechs. Cheers!

It doesn't even really need a nerf, it has nearly half it's total weight tied up in an oversized engine, that if you poptart with it you are wasting, you cannot fit as many guns on it as a comparable IS mech or even many clan mechs. You cannot even fit the dual uac/20 or ac/20 builds on it due to the side torsos being restricted by armor and structure slots. Cannot put ammo in legs, cannot fit anything but a small or medium laser, a machine gun or tag in the center torso, and the head is filled as well so you cannot even hide something there.

It is just a fast mid-low armament clan mech. Not to mention, you cannot downgrade the engine at all, it is locked due to design limitations of omnimechs.

I'll only buy the T-Wolf AFTER the nerfs. After many people had moved on to another toy.

While they are nifty little mechs, I'd love to see some more variety.
Getting a little tired of all of the Timberwolves, really. I know they're what everyone's been waiting for, and may be great mechs, but..
I don't need six of them on my team/the enemy team at the same time.

i enjoy your posts in the art section, but....you and Hellen and those who seem to only be here in hopes of it all burning down? Dunno how to say it with out being rude, but it-s gotten old bro. Move on. Enjoy the parts you still enjoy, but derailing everything with negativity? Seriously what purpose does it serve? Hellen Wheels just comes across as petty and bitter. Would hate to lump you in the same boat.

Was more a comment about the fact that paying 55 dollars for a single 'mech (+ variants) really isn't a value. The Timberwolf is a good 'mech as the OP states (and a good bit of humor,) but it really really really is not worth (no 'mech is,) 55 dollars when there are WAY better ways to spend 55 bucks. (And most of it doesn't include MW:O to me.)

You can consider it negative if you'd like (and I have in other threads, and that's my opinion,) but I feel spending that kind of money on a single item in MW:O is a seriously horrible investment. Buy premium time and be swimming in C-bills by the time the Twolf hits for C-bills..

You get 3 mechs and 3 mech bays, plus a permanent 30% cbill boost on the prime variant.

More to the point, $55 is a AAA title game, which is good for maybe 60 to 100 hours of playtime (with repeated playthroughs) and you'll get more than that between now and november - plus you'll get a 30% cbill boost, which you'll get use out of, and 3 new mech bays.

It's all in good humor. Get it or don't get it. If you don't see value in that, all well and good.

For those who don't mind spending money on their entertainment and enjoy MW:O sometimes, this isn't a bad option at all. If you're on the fence - get it.

There is no way I'd dump any more money into a company like this. I spent all I'm going to send buying mechbays equivalent to one regular priced new title. Not after all the failures and they way they manage to suck the life out of the game unless you spend the $$$.

Happy that the pay-to-play crowd are enjoying their clan mechs but why should I have to jump onto the clan side if that's not the character I want to play? I thought this was a game that should be fun for the many and not just those that pay. Now as an IS pilot, my only real options are hoping I drop with a lot of clan on my side OR run my stalker with the long-range build...standing in one place and hitting the same button for 15 minutes (yippie).

It just boggles my mind though that the clan people who are having fun stomping in their new mechs refuse to accept that it may not be fun for the other side of the fence. It's always the players fault:

1.) Learn a new playstyle.
2.) Get a job cheapskate and buy mechs. Its not pay-to-win but if you want the better mechs and weapons you should...uhhh....pay.
3.) Clans not overpowered, they're perfectly balanced. I saw one IS guy in one of the 20 matches I played today take down a first time player in a Direwolf who was disconnected in under 10 minutes so its clearly YOU who sucks.
4.) on and on....

Honestly I probably win only slightly less than I did before if you look just at the numbers....no real big change. Having any clan mech able to beat me in brawl due to being significantly outgunned, having more of the matches be stomps (for or against) and just the general frustration of knowing this free-to-play game is really not free if you want to be consistently competitive....

...well....

....its best to just find something else to do until the clanners are nerfed (which WILL happen shortly) and then become available in cbills which of course will be a while.

I like MW:O and all but I don't feel it's a good price either. This is partially maybe due to my limited funds anyway, but I also just bought like 2-3 games on steam for 10-15 bucks each. I agree the c-bill bonsu is a huge draw -and the Mad Cat is pretty sexy- but I also have a very limited time to play so I also don't really think waiting the time will be hard for me.

I've stared long and hard at that Clan pack page trying to figure out ways to afford the Timberwolf sometimes, but 55 bucks just seems a bit high for a single machine.

I don't mind spending money on entertainment at all.. But there are other companies who are more deserving of that money.
CIG would be one example.

Besides, they still haven't removed the 4 man cap, and most of my friends who played mechwarrior have abandoned this game.. so there's very little incentive for me to play at this point.
