I check the forums virtually everyday looking for new dev posts (they have been more frequent lately) and checking for new New Player threads. They are usually answered by time I get to them, but I'll throw my 2 cents in if not.
As for actual play, I probably play 1-2 hours on 4-5 days a week. I've got a handful of clan mechs and tech to get a feel for now.

Log in and play until the game crashes, usually 2-3 games in. Play something else. Come back when my mech is not "in game" anymore, try again. Play until the game crashes, usually 2-3 games in. Play something else...
Like this until I can't stand it anymore and quit for the day.

I try to play a few nights a week to keep from getting rusty. I don't have a lot of time to play games with a full time job and two young kids, and I play a number of other games at any time as well so my time is pretty limited. There are some nights I only get maybe 2 or 3 matches in, but I always prioritize mwo as one of my top games.
I guess I could be called a casual player, and I don't mind that label. I'd rather be considered as a second class player because of my mediocre ELO and lack of matches played than burning myself out and getting stressed over petty things.

Darn close to my approach to the game as well. If only there were 30 hours in the day, then I could get online to play more! I love the fact that you can log in, play a game or two in 20 mins and dash off to work. Coffee + MWO in the mornings is a good wake up combo asa tip for those who have not tried it yet.

I was playing 1-2 hours a day, the last month its maybe 1-2 hours aweek, if that.
The only reason I log in at all now is when I'm short on time or if i'm expecting someone to visit or need to keep checks on time, and not get deeply involved.
MWO fails to hold my attention anymore, as there is nothing for me to do, (mastered all IS mechs)and the group changes means its futile logging in with my daughter as a small group

I used to play pretty regularly, but last year or so I've backed off and only play a couple times a week, if that. Except after the latest patch and the holiday weekend, but not sure if that will last.
I typically play one or two mechs until I get the 2X bonus, then switch over to a Champion or Hero for the extra C-bills. Didn't buy the Clans, so I'm primarily interested in acquiring C-bills to purchase them with.
Playing sober, I'm usually good for 3 or 4 matches at a setting. When I start drinking the game becomes more obsessive and I can last a few hours, or until I'm too inebriated to shoot straight. MWO has significantly contributed to an increase in my weekly beer consumption rate.
When I play I PUG only and do my best to help out or herd the team to victory. I don't get caught up on my W/L or K/D ratios, or increasing my ELO, and am not afraid to die as long as it helps my team. I also don't have a lot of issues with "weapon balance", I take what is given and make the most of it. If my team sucks and we lose badly, I'm happy if I at least played smart and ended up top of my lance.

I'm currently playing the "Patching" mini-game running the "Repair Tool v1.1.3.0" wondering what an "MD5 Hash Error" is.

I still play too much for my own liking to be honest. It just keeps drawing me back in.
Since this last patch my love for the game has taken a large nosedive because it puts me in the position where I have to think about wether I want to accept that team invite or not.
I'm not liking the stompings and amount of meta/tourney level teams I'm thrown to. If they had have kept the old mm but just balanced the weight out I'd be happier!
Small teams of 2 are really getting abused right now.....

I'm a teacher in the midst of summer, so I'm playing a lot right now. Leveled up my Ravens this weekend.
