So we have this public test server, but so far as I know, it's mainly been used to test more or less complete changes already scheduled to end up in production. Clans, for instance. This seems to me a waste of potential. This forum is replete with suggestions for balance changes that in many cases would require nothing more than changing the values of a few constants here or there. To give an example, fixing heat caps at 30, and upping heat dissipation. Now maybe this is a good idea, and maybe it's a horrible one, but why not just try it and find out? If it's good, then it can be applied to the real game, and if it's not, then people will stop suggesting it.

Over the course of a month, you could cover a dozen different variations in mech and weapons stats with minimal engineering effort. Where's the harm?
