Well... a year ago, everyone peed their pants at the thought of a clan light mech with 4 C-SSRM6's. Now they're here, and not a single toss is given.

At least PGI dodged one landmine. Though it's partially because light mechs are very hard to play now, with hit reg being improved. Even SRM boats are a threat against lights now.

Ridiculous cooldown and SSRM damage reduction did the trick. 6 missiles doing 2 damage to random locations every 7 seconds isn't really an issue, even for lights. Even if you boat them and manage to take a shot, a light can easily GTFO during the cooldown.

Well C-SSRM(6) have a huge cool-down, however, the ability to toss out that much streaks in one salvo usually obliterates lights note that they additionally have an increased range of 360.

But for some reason I don't actually see that much Streak Crows, makes you wonder why - our crow usually is in the top dmg scores...

*Edit: Well we run them more like these: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0225bbb05e0bf07 *

@Tahribator maybe we should give this some testing, you sit in the light I pick the crow, and then tell me about that rediulous cool down and only 2 dmg... again, in detail please.

welcome to mechwarrior online. where PGI ruins everything before said thing is even in the game. then the people that complained casually walk away like nothing happened and start complaining about the next thing that hasn't arrived yet.

What I'm saying is, no light is going to fight you with a build like that. You'll spend most of your game chasing squirrels, and that build is absolutely worthless against heavier opponents(well, except useless damage farming). Even if you manage to get the jump on them, and dump 60 damage once, a decent light won't let you do that twice. That's why Streaktaros were good light scarecrows, but not exactly good light hunters.

Now, if Clan lights went above 150KPH and had enough speed to give chase to other lights, then we'd be seeing threads here and there about how "OP" SSRM6'es are.

The 110 KPH of the crow with its range might give it a 2end 60 dmg pop, that light is basically out of the game if it manages to not get legged/survives.

The crow also works well vs mediums, and granted you might need fire support to take down an untouched assault, but how doesn't - as a medium...

Just stay with your group and prey on the weak / small.

While IS streaks where somewhat fair, in the matter of range an dmg limitation this is all gone. OFC you have that big cool-down but you also got the range, and it will suffice to hit a light once to severely dmg it. If the then runs away and comes back cd won't even matter.

My suggestion would be to drop the Artemis lock-on boost intended bug thingy... but apparently only a few people recognize this as a problem (or play lights).

I've run that build a couple of times just to see what happens and I'll tell you from experience EVERY time I played it I came across enemy ecm and the countered and I couldn't get a lock even with a tag. I thought counter was just for other ecm mechs but it eliminates streaks entirely.

I kept that same build and went to a regular SRM 6 x5 and that does the trick, it's far more effective in a brawl.

Seriously? Have you actually used it?

That damage is spread all over the place. Once in a blue moon you get concentrated damage, but rarely. A mech is far more danger to Lights using the SSRM2s (and even those are mediocre now) because of their higher DPS, lower heat, and thus sustainability in most cases. I have seen a SSRM30 boat score a 1 shot kill one time...and it was against and already raggedy mech.

Between the base mechanics of the SSRM6, ECM, and the huge amount of AMS, that is a scarecrow, nothing more, in most instances. and the 7 seconds in between volleys is plenty of time for any decent Jenner or Ember jock to remove your left torso, leaving you with a SSRM12.

It's a bad build, plain and simple. Too role focused, and not very efficient at that role.

So there is an upside to only having 7-10% of folks playing lights. Seems pretty harsh to me but I guess you can call it a silver lining.

I wouldn't mind seeing a better light representation, now that HSR usually works, (though amazed how often dead to right shots still do marginal damage. It's one thing to think you hit, nave HSR tell you NO, and do no damage. But when you nail a mech point blank, and it takes damage, but very little... that is a bit more frustrating. A little more consistency would be lovely.) since I find Assault heavy matches to still be the norm.

Really hoping, the mythical CW will bring more role to the game. TBH I don't have much faith in 3x4, and it is a poor spread anyhow, since we need to find ways to "lighten" the matches. But whatever, can't deprive people the fun of running their immortal assault mechs.

But it ain't SSRM6's that are scaring people off. A good part is TBH; lots of people playing their Clannies, and not so many of the IS Light pilots have translated well to Clan Lights. Once the new wears off, I expect to see more people jumping back into their traditional IS Mechs, including Lights.

I'd personally drop one SSRM6 for NARC. Any ECM near you get's a NARC and now you can spam SSRM's all day long. Works fairly well for me. Just like this http://mwo.smurfy-ne...258085bc4173dad

IS Streaks got the damage nerf as well, which hurt mediums a bit, but streaks are mostly good for damage farming, screen shake, and some extra umph when in the heat of battle. I don't have the clan package, but I don't see why Clan Streaks wouldn't end up in a similar role, but given than normal SRMs register damage better now AND are half the weight, I can see why you don't seem clan streaks much.
