Another kind of balance instead of "pure" battlefield performance.
The cost and the criticals of a system.

To make it clear - i don't want to change the critical slots for a LBX or Ultra Autcannon.
But I feel offended by the Clan AC.

They have the same amount of criticals like the LBX and cost as much, while the Ultra Autcannon performs better as the Clan AC - and has 1 critical slot less, too.

Hey it would fit perfectly if the LBX (20 example) would have both firing modes. Slug and Cluster - 9 slots and 1.200.000 C-Bills.
But they don't to have Cluster and Slug - i have to buy both weapons for 2.400.000

But seriously - there is hardly any reason to do this. The Ultra 20 is the better weapons in all terms.

So there are three options to go:
  • To buy a LBX means you automatically get a Clan AC for free and vice versa.
  • the ClanAC should cost as much as the IS ACs.
  • the ClanAC 20 becomes FLD (1shot not 2-5)

The clan AC is a place holder weapon that exists because the LB-X weapons can't switch to slug ammo in game. So instead of two ammo types, we get two autocannon types instead.

A 'real' clan AC is exactly the same as a normal IS AC.

Yeah I know - that its only a place holder - but a place holder should work somehow - and its obvious that the Clan AC is out off the line.

Yes but as the OP pointed out we do we need to spend 2.4million c-bills for something that should be in the damn game?

I completely stand behind the first 2 suggestions, but I have concerns with the third:
There are enough players complaining about clan-opness already, with ClanACs being FLD again this would only increase. They would be just plain better than IS ACs with 1 giant damage slug and reduced weight & crits.

Same concerns here - and i really wouldn't like it this way but its a valid option and should be considered. (although i can build a ClanOnly - build of there golden age - with a Clan AC 20 - weighting 14tons and 10 criticals (same as IS)

Clan Mechs with IS style autocannons....(only the DireWolf, Stormcrow and Nova would be able to have a AC 20)

1 - I'm sure PGI will swap all cAC for cLBX when they get switchable ammo working, so cost-wise it's okay.

2- cAC/20 becomes FLD...... WHY??? Are you NUTS? You want AC60 Dire Wolves?
