Hey guys.

I was just watching the video "Assault Mech Developer Breakdown" and I couldn't help but notice when you sweep you large laser across the trees nothing happens...

Destruction:

I mean.. I know this is still in progress, beta and stuff, but PLEASE try to add as much destruction as it is humanly possible. PLEEEEEAAASE :D I know you guys are great at what you do.... Just sayin'
- the limbs destruction is amazing so far..

Sense of Scale is much more simple to achieve (just slow down particles and parts?)

This is something that keeps me worried all the time. We are piloting huge mechs and all else has to look smaller
And I know that nowadays technology can provide good sense of scale with some simple measures:

- Remember we used to see gorillas and people running around in MW4 ? It was nice...
- Notice on this video at 0:38
when the Atlas loses his arm and it falls in the water.. I think it should fall somewhat slower and the splash slow and MUCH larger..
- The particles from the explosions are amazing... the sparks should be slower though
- It would be nice if the dust clouds from the walking could be slowed down too

I know time is of the essence but just don't overlook this, guys. Please :)

Destructible trees etc... will be featured closer to launch, what you see in the video is a very early beta version.

Looking at the video, I do have to agree a bit. Those extremely heavy mechs don't hang in the air very much before dropping like a human would.

Still, let's see.

The developers can't even get the community warfare aspect in before launch.I'm sure we'll see graphical updates and touch up but not for a while.

Indeed, I am hoping for as much attention to detail as possible/practical as far as this goes.

I would love to see a good amount of destruction. Not Red Faction destruction, but just enough to add to the immersion.

I also hope to see more effects in cockpit, such as sparks when damaged, cracking cockpit glass, snow and rain effects on cockpit, and maybe brief pilot reflections in cockpit glass.

I noticed in the class vids as well. When he goes tromping through the trees none are knocked over.

I link this to it still being beta.

I agree, we'll be piloting gigantic machines and it should look and feel like it. Always bothered me in Supreme Commander how you have these units that are like 40+ stories tall but the sense of scale isn't there so you feel like they're just sized like people.

For me the order of importance would be:
  • Playability/Mechanics
  • True sense of scale
  • Destructive environment
Having said that, based on videos, it would be a little silly to be able to destroy parts of buildings and/or mechs but a tree gets it and not even the leaves get charred.

Give it time, EVE Online is still adding graphics and shaders after many years of being out of beta.

OK...right.

Not sure what you're saying here. Heavier things don't drop faster, so why should it go twenty feet faster than two? Not to mention something that big has a lot of air resistance by comparison.

Is any news from Piranha when massive environment destruction will be implemented?

Oooh...

Massive Enviromental Destruction...

It would be nice to be able to demolish a terrain - blowing away the ground beneath a non-jumpjet Atlas as it stands at the top of a cliff and see it tumbling down would be nice.

I agree with the idea, but I also remember MW3 where everything had mass and everything was destructable, it was a laggy nightmare online, great single player though.
