Jumping to its maximum height is definitely not the culprit. At most on impact it causes what, 1% reduction and light yellow paperdoll?

I'm talking about enemy fire being magnetized to Summoner legs. It's nuts.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or if I've been having a long stream of bad luck.

No, it's not the landing, it's the jumper's tendency to jump when fired upon as some sort of bizarre defensive strategy. If you jump when someone is shooting you, they're not going to miss, but it will often spread damage to your legs.

I think its because the arms are so low. Since the arms are so low I end up having to jump for almost all of my shots, which results in a bit of fall damage and people hitting my legs since they are up high.

My buddy who wasn't jumping at all was getting legged 5 games in a row from LRM's it seemed they were just all hitting the legs.

It's not as bad as I thought it would be.

I do not have a Summoner but having fired upon them a few times I think I know why this is. First, when they jump the legs become more prominent targets. Second, they appear to have pretty good torso hit boxes and good defensive twisting capabilities... so it is just easier to leg them.

Ya I mastered mine and Im getting legged (atleast one leg) every other game no joke, I noticed in one game LRMs legged me its that bad. The culprit here is that the legs are MASSIVE, its no wonder they get legged quickly.

I can't attest to the LRMs (yet) but something is definitely up with Summoners being legged. It's like a pandemic, man.

My summoners seem to die most often to getting the legs chopped. I run max leg armor too.

Wait until you see the fall damage they are adding in that was on the test server. Your legs will not last very long at all in the future. Really going to make any type of jumping much more difficult you have to save thrust for your landing or you take massive damage that adds up fast.

I find all Clan MEchs tend to attract leggin, with the exception of the Assaults, overall (and they get it more than my IS assaults do).

The answer in most cases is pretty simple though. Look at the game models. Them things, in general, are VERY leggy.

This. I know my lance has adopted this strategy heavily. Why shoot three torsos when you can shoot two legs?
