I have seen a fair number of teams go in tp panic mode when losing and just camp behind the turrets hoping the enemy will die trying to kill the turrets or the time will run out.

I think after 5 mins of fighting the base turrets will be disabled if ANY ally is with in say 100 meters this allows them to stop lights rushing at the start to base cap.

The change would just stop the enemy form going to hide if the fight looks like it will go badly for them by not allowing them to hide behind turrets and hope for a win.

The time and disable range could be changed at will till we find a good balance and it would help stop battles lasting forever when both teams are close to death by not allowing people to camp behind them.

This is the same thing as complaining about people who win by base rushing- if you don't like people using the base mechanics to make things happen in battles, then play Skirmish mode instead- problem solved.

Hiding behind one's fixed defenses is a valid tactic.

If you do not like it, go play Skirmish or Conquest.

Then there is no point having a mode that people will start to avoid due to the longer wait times leading to a dead mode no one wants to play.

I have no problem with the turrets but the fact as soon as a fight starts to go bad you see the enemy team run behind and do nothing but drag the game out that in the end is just annoying for a lot of people.

When the base turrets were tough and dangerous, people doing that was really annoying.Especially when it was a close game and everyone was already beat up.Now,the base turrets fall over dead if you look at them hard,so it isn't really that big a deal anymore really. They are still a threat to damaged mechs if left unchecked,as they should be.

I play Assaults almost exclusively. Matches "drag on" for a maximum of 15 minutes, which I can handle because of this magical talent I have called "patience".

Tactical retreat?

Im with the others in this post. Using your base defense is fine if you are loosing and hoping the defenses soften up the other team just enough to be manageable.

The turret aren't even normally THAT strong anyway. Most teams that hide in base are baddly beaten up. Your team could just run in and kill them while the base defense just chips your paint.

Overall, this seems like a relatively minor thing to complain about.

Great complain about the turrets in one game mode out of three because you don't feel like trying another mode.

Just remove the friggin base turrets, these FUGS'll never stop complaining about them.

Ohh 2 med lasers and 2 LRM 10s is OP for an object that doesn't even friggin move! Ohh they're too OP with their accuracy even though my ECM makes it so they don't even turn on.

Remove all mechs except the Jenner and force a standard 100 engine in it with 6 small lasers and no option to change them and people would still complain about things bein OP even though there'd be no ability to change it whatsoever.

Seriously just get rid of the friggin turrets cause this type of whining will never friggin stop.
