Almost no falling damage on my Highlander with 5JJ. And on a Spider the legs are gone in no time. m(

Another test that is way to short, is on a weekday and with little to no notification.

I assume this is done to limit the number of testers.

3/3/3/3 apparently isnt working, because last match there were only 5 assaults in other team and 5 at other. :)

Weight class counts are guaranteed with the current settings; if you have 5 assaults, the other team will have the same.

BTW: Hang in there group guys. There's only 3 or 4 groups even searching right now so the queue is pretty starved right now. Hopefully as more people log on to PTS and group up, the queue situation will improve.

How elastic is that, Karl? Do class restrictions relax fastest under low-population conditions?

No, class restrictions are a guarantee. It's our compromise for having to relax 3's.

You mean weight (per 'Mech) restrictions, right? Class restrictions are 3s.

I don't mean to quibble! What I'm asking is how likely 3/3/3/3 is in practice, even at periods of high population, when, say, a given weight class is heavily represented in the queue (i.e., who relents first: players or the matchmaker?).

Anyone notice or bother to point out that one of the things being tested is the Command Console, which is only allowed in an assault mech, the same time they are testing 3/3/3/3? Makes it a little harder to get in a match using one...

Honestly I am glad that weight class matching is in. That is much better than what we had previously.

Kind of. What the matchmaker does is slowly release the balanced 3's rule over time. So as your request ages, the matchmaker allows up to 4 of one weight class, then 5, then 6, and so on. At every point though, the weight classes of both teams must match.

I honestly can't answer how many 3's games we'll see in practice. Obviously I'm testing using historical production data, so the matchmaker ends up kicking in release valves frequently.

So effectively, matches of 7 assaults (5 D-DC's on my team alone) such as I just played are to be the norm because PGI is concerned about wait times and the QQing of folks that only want to run heavy or assault mechs are to be the norm? As in no real change to mech balance, just fall damage that apparently isn't working correctly either?
