Most Domination maps goes like this: get into the circle first, then find a place to sit in the circle and do nothing for a while. A mech can sit in the circle the whole game and see no action if they want. There is no danger in being in the circle. There is no chance of holding the circle and pushing the other team out. Therefore... it's pointless. It's just Skirmish without getting stuck with one freakin' spider jumping around the map for 10 minutes.
The ONE exception to this issue is the new Frozen City. Then central bowl is so big that the circle basically fits inside it. Going into the circle is RISKY. Often I find myself going into the circle on this map because I must for my team, then dying... but holding it for another 30 seconds or so. This is FUN. Frozen City is the best map for Dominion because of this.
The fix? SO SIMPLE! Reduce the size of the Domination circle. I'm not sure how much would be best, but it should be significant so going into it is a risk and it is possible to take the circle and force the other team out so they have to stage a counter-attack and retake it. I would estimate reduce the size by 25%, but playtesting would of course be necessary.
