Catapult Vs Timberwolf, Is The Cplt Obsolete?

I'm only able to find a few reasons to get a catapult:
K2 ac40
A1 srm/lrm boat
A build with a bigger motor
k2 upper energy ears
Torso twist?
Meanwhile the timberwolf has more armour, a more or less equal speed, more hard points (except a1 misiles)
I have never driven a timberwolf so im truly curious about the question, and if its the case, the posible solutions.

Good comparison.

Timberwolf versus Orion is the comparison you're looking for, if you wanted an even weight scale.

Thats the point the timberwolf can fit all the catapult builds except the A1 ones and be faster more armored and take extra weapons.
The major part of catapult builds use the xl 300 that is 74.8 kph/82.2 kph the max motor is the xl 315 78.5 kph/86.4 kph. Meanwhile with 10t more the timberwolf has 81.0 kph 89.1 kph.
Armour difference: ct 8, torso 4, arm 8, leg 4
Both of them have JJ

Interesting. I never realized how small the armor differences were.
I've used both recently. The Twolf feels much more durable. The Twolf might have vastly superior hitboxes to the Catapult & seems better at spreading damage across its torsos. Maybe the extra kph on Twolf make it more difficult to target.

The Mad Cat's arms get in the way more IMO.

All that and can't die from side torso loss.

CPLT-C1(F)
3 ER Large
XL315
Jump Jets
22 DHS
That's 27 points of non-FLD damage (if you can keep the lasers focused on one spot the whole time). Just add a calculated level of aggression, smart maneuvering, and good aim, and voila:

Mech Stats:
K/D Ratio: 3.0
W/L Ratio: 1.6
Average Damage (365 Games): 500.20

I ran that build also...then switched to a jump sniping 2 ERPPC build after. 3 LLs are fun.
