A few “what-if” questions to ask what my MC balance and mechbays would look like if I took different actions during this weekend’s sale.
Assuming my current situation is:
MC balance of 75
5 mechbays total, all filled with mechs,
1 hero mech,
the other 4 non-hero mechs.
Asking this because I haven’t found a guide explaining whether certain actions I could take would lead to me being given mechbays for free, charged automatically for mechbays, prompted to delete or sell an existing mech, or something else.
  • What if I buy enough MC to get either Fang or Flame, and order them?
  • What if I buy enough MC to get both Fang and Flame, and order them?
  • What if I sell a mech to free up space in the garage before buying MC and getting either Fang and Flame?
  • What if I sell two mechs to free up space...you get the idea. Etc. for any other order of events you can think up that would be helpful to know.
Thanks in advance for any explanation, and looking forward to giving you all the chance to stomp all over me in a new hero mech I’m unfamiliar with piloting

I have NO IDEA what you are talking about. If you don't have space in your Mech Bay for new Mechs then you will need to either sell some of your current stock to make room or purchase Bays. Its pretty simple. There is no free Mech Bay's given out to the best of my knowledge.

To clarify: are you saying that if I had the MC to buy Fang or Flame, but didn't have an open MechBay to put them into, the button to buy Fang or Flame would be disabled/unusable until I sold a mech or bought a MechBay to put that new mech into?

Pretty Much... You need an open Mech Bay to allow you to purchase a new Mech. Just think you cannot park your Mech on the street, you need a garage to park it in before you purchase it.

You first need to have an open 'Mech Bay before you can even get the option to buy a new 'Mech. When you have an open 'Mech Bay and mouse over it, the Buy 'Mech (or New 'Mech or something like that ... I'm not at home right now) option lights up. Click that and you'll be taken to the lists of 'Mechs you can buy with MC or C-Bills. It will default to showing you the Hero 'Mechs first, which you can only get with MC. The other tabs organize the 'Mechs by weight class.

Thanks for the help, guys. I was hoping to both get the best bang for the buck and avoid selling mechs. Your description made the difference between which MC package I'm deciding to order.
