How about a new game mode? I've been thinking of a mode that I call Domination. The good thing is that it makes use of elements already in the game so it might not be too difficult to get it up and running.
Domination is a blend of Conquest and Assault. Like Conquest, teams must capture and hold bases. But now the bases are supplemented with defenses in the form of turrets.
- The turrets are dormant when the bases are neutral.
- When captured, they power up and work for the controlling side.
- If the base is captured by the opposing side (assuming they aren't eliminated) the turrets also change sides. If a base is reset to neutral, the turrets revert to a dormant state.
I also expect this will work better on the larger maps.
Please note that my ideas about Domination mode are just that; ideas. Hopefully, they might spur others, with better game-design skills, to build on this structure or suggest better modes.
