Yeah I wish I had an 8350 to test these things out myself.

AFAIK, AMD is looking to release their new architecture in about 18 months, and not a moment too soon.

The FX6300 is the best for price I think. I have mine overclocked to 4.3GHz and it stays well below 50'C at the worst of times. It's great! Run that with 8GB ram, ASUS M5A99X Evo R.2.0 and a GTX760. Average 70fps on max settings. Use a big arse phanteks cooler.

I run an amd 8350, asus Saber tooth 990fx v.2, gigabyte windforce 7970, 16 gigs ram, v8 cooler, win7 x64. I run at ultra high with custom config, with v-sync (without it can tear pretty bad) and run at a steady 40-60 frames on dx11. I know Intel fan boys say that AMD can't game, and sure, out of the box it's performance can be bad, but if you research your hardware you can make your amd rig sing and dance. I can run a full game rig on my system, and do it at half the cost of even a mid range Intel rig.

That 8350 and Sabertooth run more than my 3570k and Asrock board (wish I'd gone Asus, but oh well) counting the cooler and about as much not counting the cooler, not "half the cost", and my modest Intel setup runs the game far faster, or any game for that matter. I have only the most modest of overclocks (4.2 at stock voltage)

Yes, AMD CPUs can game, but they're not recommendation worthy. Hopefully their next architecture does better.

Half the cost is not even close. an i5 4670k is only like $30 - $40 more and beats an 8350 in every game. I get slightly better FPS than you with my 4670k and my GPU is half as powerful.

Why is everyone recommending AMD chips for this game? It does not take advantage of the multiple cores. An Intel chip with a high clock speed is much better.

I have an FX-8350 on a Sabertooth 990fx R.2. Kingston HyperX Beast 2400 16GB ram, HD7950 950mhz edition, Cooler Master Silent Pro 850w and SSDs. The game runs great. I'm about to upgrade to a Sapphire Tri-X OC R9 290, Sabertooth 990fx R.2, FX-9370, EVGA 1000w G1, same RAM, same SSDs.

The 8350 is unlocked, why not just clock the 10% yourself?

Who's recommending AMD chips for MWO? I haven't seen any recommendations for them outside of the budget builds thread(s).

I really don't think AMD holds the bang for buck tittle anymore. The most recent architecture really does lag behind Intel. If your happy with your system, that's all that really matters.

Sold my 8350 and bought a 9370 because the price was the same as an 8350 at the time.

Too lazy to move my mobo and cpu into another case. Just gonna build another machine.

Oh, i had already the Board and the Memory so it was CPU out -> CPU in and sell the old CPU so the upgrade x4 975 to FX8350 was pretty cheap - and a Bios update.
