i'm currently running a uac20 but it seems to be largely ineffective against faster mechs and anybody who torso twists. Could it be worth it to trade the uac for the lbx for burst damage and better anti mover ability?

Running the LBX 20 and liking it. As long as you have other weapons to help open up the armor.

My SCR-C runs 3CMPL and LB20-X. The number of times I've peeled the back of an Atlas open to dump a scattershot into their kidneys...

Maybe if you use it to hit enemies that have already lost some of their armor, but certainly not if you use it in the way your post suggests.

Depends on what your other weapons are.

C-UAC20 is nice when you're face to face with a target, or if the target is coming straight at you at range. Especially if you can double tap it devastates mechs quickly. Though as soon as the target starts moving sideways it spreads damage all over the enemy mech. It's still good as in it weakens the enemy quickly so you can finish them off with secondary weapons.
I found the LBX-20 to be much better at close ranges, let's say up to 200 meters. It quickly rips off components and strips enemies, and thanks to 20 pellets with huge crit chances you end up doing way more than 20 damage per shot. You just need to bring other weapons to help go through the armor, let's say a few SRMs and backup lasers.
