anyway clan erppcs don't seem any worse than any other pinpoint weapon from a hitreg standpoint, to me. Occasionally shots miss that seem like they should be hits, but any game that uses server side hitreg is gonna have a little bit of that



****, Planetside 2 uses Client side hit detect and its absolutely atrocious there now...it used to be good, now you will, at times, need 50 rounds for 1 guy and STILL die to him...

Just seems game devs are incapable of making a properly functioning Hit detection system.....I mean, Call of duty, I used to play that MP with my bro, dad and uncle....had little issues with hit detect in that old ass game...Medal of honor AA, RTCWolfenstein, no issues there either. Battlefield 2? BF2142? Nope, it was fine there aswell...

But Planetside 2, MWO....****...

But i thought every shot registers on a direwolf CT even those that hit other mechs. B)

Not in a Clan mech yet, but when using PPCs after I fire another weapon I often don't get the red reticle telling me I hit, however it is often still dealing damage.

No, the thing in BF2, is you can do a minimum of 0.2 points of damage. I hve edited that game's weapon files and the damage goes from like 30-0.2 dmg. So, that game, you register your shots, that game is pretty decent about it. The thing there is the absurdly low minumum damage mixed with heavy armor modifiers. So, in that video the guy is hitting him....but dat minimum damage. In the opening clip, the guy was side stepping the bullets, evident by the dirt plumes behind him.

But modern games like PS2, where the minimum damage is 143 and 167 and crap, with no armor modifiers to reduce it....its straight subtraction there when its infantry vs infantry, save for MAX units, who get 80% reduction. The math is pretty simple there...1000hp-143dmg= like a 9 bullet kill. There is Nano weave, that gives a max of 20% reduction to damage, but even THAT is only like an 11 bullet kill. PS2, with a max Nano weave, shielded heavy only takes about 13-15 rounds if you shoot him only in the body. Headshots get x2 dmg....so when you are needing 30 and 40 hits to kill guys....something is off. Then to boot, its not one or 2 guys here and there. Its not only happening when the game is lagging, when there is alot of people....it happens all the damn time now.

BF2 hit reg is pretty spot on, only it's really wonky bullet deviation and minimum damage really mess stuff up. I have edited BF2 Coop battles to where the minimum damage is like 32, I kill guys in like 4 hits. This on AI Bots ofc, I dont MP that game at all.

It is not just PPCs. My friend fired two AC20 rounds, into the rear of a Kit Fox. Both did not registered. I watched the whole thing in spectator.

I use a Stormcrow with 2 cERppc, and often both shots either fly through someone, or evaporate into the person without doing any damage.

It's not a sequencing problem when shooting it in combo with other weapon types. It's just a massive hit registration bug.
