I take your dakka build and raise you EVEN MORE DAKKA!
(Saner version)

Shield with left side again, and unleash maximum shelling.
Watch out for ammo 'splosions, though.
For the saner version, you can trade one more ton of ammo for one more ERML, though that will hurt your ammo reserves and ramp up the heat. Take one more for a DHS, but that's already approaching not-fun levels.

In all seriousness, though, remove the SRMs and add a few more ERMLs, and you're already at a dakka-type meta build. Less pinpoint damage, more DPS, and runs pretty cool.

I like whr this is going :P ;)

I've forgotten just how FUN it is to experiment with various builds. Damn, I miss MW4 Mercenaries.

Oh, and first run on the 'insane' build: two solo kills, 424 damage. Good enough, I say.
Can't face down a DWF obviously, but can unload DPS pretty much anywhere.

Surprise 11.9 - 13 DPS with no heat, mother[bleep]er! And make that 15.4 - 16.5 in the saner build, for up to 24 seconds!

Im a big fan of ultradakka builds:

They use to be annoying for the target cause of the constant shake, so hard to retaliate back, low heat management needed and also good DPS, eventhough the alpha tends to be low. Im allways temped to erase all the secondary weapons of this one and add 4 more tons of UAC5 ammo, but i contend myself to do so, so at least i aim more often instead of just press the pew-pew button all the time brainlessly

Can't say much about this, since I'm no King Crab user (TBRs all the way for now). But I say keep the backup weapons unless you find yourself running out of ammo too often - you never know when you need them. Aside from that, your build is very much a meta build, and yes the alpha is low BUT you get to spit out one or every second, which adds up over time especially in a brawl.

But enough talk. HAVE AT THEE!
2xERLL, 5xSPL TBR-C.
Yet another experiment. Why not combine a long-range build with a short-range build? That way, one can bring down 22 damage at range (any more and you meet Ghost Heat), while still having enough close-in pinpoint punch to deter any fool that comes too close. The hardpoints and space constraints do admittedly force me to forego one more SPL and put in instead tonnage fillers (a C-AP in this instance).

In hindsight, the C-AP is actually the best thing to put in this build, since it:
  • increases sensor range, making this a good scouter and making enemies easier to spot and hit,
  • decreases target gathering time for easier pinpointing where the damage should go, and
  • counters ECM to destroy any hope of them denying your friendlies their LRMs / streaks, not to mention sabotaging any Spooky Atlas (™ TheB33f) that attempts to get a jump on you.
As a bonus, it deals 15.2 DPS, alphas for 52 damage and can last 15 seconds in a guns-blazing fight before shutting down. Laser vomit meta you say? Ha!

(For the record, though, the laservomit does 54 damage at 455 m, compared to this build's 52 damage at 189 m. But it shuts down at 9.2 seconds in, and only does 13.2 DPS. All figures with modules and double basics, and laservomit in this case is 2LPL + 4ERML, my current meta build.)

Took a break from my Timbers for a while to go back on my Banshee's and my Hellbringer which I loved, coming back fresh I tried switching up from my meta Dual ERPPC/Gauss and laser vomit builds to this hybrid

4x ERML, 1x Gauss, 1x ERPPC TBR-PRIME first match in it had 710 damage and 2 kills. FUN!

TBR-S option 3x ERML 1x Gauss 1x ERPPC first match was over 500 damage. This has JJ but less ammo.

I liked having the sniper Gauss and PPC up high on the Timber and two 2x ERML in each arm.

898 Damage and 3 kills

I have difficulties with my timber wolves. They seem to be really squishy. The only one I am doing well with is the one packed with SRM by default. (Will add my builds later)

Aye. I have to give a shout out to all the Timber pilots who have wasted my sorry behind at one time or another: piloting a Timber is hard!

I thought the chassis would be much more forgiving, and this is coming from somebody who runs Hunchbacks, Stormcrows, and Grasshoppers - only the SCR has the super-duper hitbox-ness. I have taken my TBR out a few times and find it harder to do well in and harder to skillfully pilot than my Novas for heck's sake!
