Did it make you feel important 151st? Did it make you feel powerful? Hating on a game and claiming you are better?

You aren't. If you could do better, why didn't you?

In truth, MWO is following one of the more successful free to play models - offering all that cool stuff people want to buy (and they do), and at the same time making sure you don't really NEED any of it, so players who can't (or simply won't) spend money on this game are not left out.

Looking at your profile, it doesn't appear like you put ANY money towards developing this game, so enjoy your free ride that WE paid for. You are a valuable part of the playerbase, but if you think that alone entitles you to some kind of special treatment, then you are way off your rocker.

qki go create an entirely f2p account and then play it and then tell us when you get all your mechs leveled up. then tell us how much fun you had doing when right now an atlas with 100 pts of centre torso armour can walk into a direwolf and get alpha'd and be dead. now how can i get a direwolf without payinf or it right now? ok so until it is available for c-bills i should...? well lets put it this way........I am very sure of this right now. A lot of the free to play players right now aren't logging in. so now you're losing player base. all because PGI brought out the "golden guns" which you can ONLY pay for. oh my there was even a thread somewheres that i just had to troll saying the Direwolves were too wimpy with the armour and couldn't take on an atlas 1v1, guess he was a worse player than me.

Good riddance then.

If you "walk your atlas in front of a direwolf" then you are bad, pure and simple. And you might as well not log in for all the good you will do - less people will get frustrated for having dimwits on their team that just refuse to stay alive, because getting a spider in a sniping match with a highlander is th eheight of their tactical acumen.

Once you get past all your L2P issues, you can take a fresh mech (the trials are actually pretty decent for the job) and get good results without paying a single cent.

Paying people get more toys to play with - get over it. I didn't buy the phoenix pack, and I just used the mechs I had instead.

There are no "golden guns". The clans have their own drawbacks - not just in the weapon stats. The nova, for example, has a turn rate of some 55 deg/sec, while a 50 ton IS centurion turns 80 deg/sec - that is huge, and if you don't know how to play to your strengths, then it's your problem, not mine.

Get over yourself, and the fact that not spending money means you WILL get fewer toys to play with, and if you wish to stay competetive, your choices might be limited to tactics you do not find very appealing - that's life.

First lesson of the day: Learn to Torso Twist.

So, instead of just having to core through your ~170 of A+S, he also has to go through 104 arm, then your side torso at ~110, then you give him the other side, which also doubles that buffer.

So, if you aren't aware, it takes longer to get through 500 A+S than it does 170.

After you learn that, perhaps you'll realize the DoT nature of clan weapons make them inferior in the above match up, since while he has to look at you for 1,5 seconds for his ERLLs and .75 seconds for his UAC20, you need only 1 second for any of your lasers, or no time at all for your ACs, PPCs and SRMs.

So, once you get those out of the way, and also learn the weakness of the Dire Whale, you learn to get into his side arc, and never leave. He'll be defenseless.

Oh what a horrible first-world problem you have that you have to wait a month or two before you can play with the new shinies. My sincerest sympathies.

Beautiful reply. I almost shed a tear on its account.

There's only one reason for that.Greed.They want more people to buy the mechs with money instead because they can't wait.

There's a sucker born every minute, and PGI wants their money. Easy enough to do with folks starving for MORE NEW GOLD GIANT ROBOTS, right?

Pretty much every 'free to play' game out there tries very hard to get you to spend your money, the real problem here is that if you do , you do not really get value for money. The amount some people pay is absurd and could quite of easily bought them an awful lot of triple A rated titles where everyone has exactly the same possible game experience.

Now people often say the pay part is for convenience , i.e. you don't have much time so you can buy stuff as opposed to having to spend a lot of hours ingame to get it.... so it's a pay for convenience situation.

Some items are pay to win though with a lot of time and unlocks you may just neutralise this , never really looked into the MC arty and airstrikes vs C-Bills with the skill unlocks!

The clan mechs will be C-bills a lot later on , but for now people could say pay to win in the belief that clan mechs are way better than IS ones or even jus a little. All I do know is that clan mechs are way better than IS ones ... In looks and their HUD (more polish and the HUD layout is a lot nicer to look at than IS ones!).

The only thing that you ever really "need" to pay for in this game is more mechbays, and for 15 dollars you get 10 of them. So you'll have enough for a mastered chassis from each weight class with a couple extra to spare, just for throwing in 15 bucks.

I've spent $120 in total, and the only one of those purchases I use on a regular basis are the mechbays. The Flame and Novas see use on occasion, and I have yet to tackle my Kit Foxes.

Drop $15 for 10 mechbays, pay attention to contests, etc. and you will be every bit as competitive as people who have shelled out 500+ for this game.

"Here's a fun game. We'll make it fun and nice and everything, then after a while, POW!

Give us money for extra stuff or you'll get ganked all the time and your fun game goes all ******"

This is why F2P gaming is only just above the CoD respawns on the list of 'shittest gaming ideas ever'.

Sound like you haven't play other F2P games. You will see that this one is good actually:)

Also the Prime(I) variants count as hero mechs. They get a 30% c-bill bonus, custom camo and custom geometry(model tweaks)

Cant buy the (I) version for c-bills, only the standard Prime

I have no idea what you're talking about.

See, that game is a good idea on its own - at least until they decide that Bagger 293 is a $40 DLC rather than an in-game unlock.

@OP: Query: the difference between getting Jovian Bolted by a Masakari or Daishi, vs. by an Awesome whose PPCs deal the same damage? (Yes, CERPPCs only deal 10 damage, not the 15 of TT.)

Tbh, this is what i've just done.

My rage and butthurt reached nuclear levels when I walk forward on Frozen city and a Daishi pops up and onehit kills me. Probably luck, but when i've played 8 team games in a row, and lost 7, it kinda takes any fun out of it.

Lol, it's not PGI's fault you and your team can't fight your way out of a paper bag

Same as founders mechs and phoenix main variants.

Income is not exactly a combat stat though, quineg?
