Operation Broken Arrow was an event run in-house with the Robinson Rangers Brigade. Due to the wild success of the event, I've decided to publicize the Operation Broken Arrow Anthology, which contains all of the material used and created over the course of the event. You can access the anthology here:

The Operation combined in-game objectives (such as capturing specific points on conquest, escorting a mech through a series of checkpoints, or scoring a specific enemy) as a Lance with role-playing that took place on our forums. There are links within the anthology to all of the materials we used (guidebooks, tracking sheets, etc...). Forum activities involved things like solving a mystery, decrypting messages and using "satellites" to locate target objectives for an upcoming attack. Additionally, news reports and short stories helped to flesh out the world.

All of this contributed to an over-arching story. Beginning in March 3050, the Robinson Rangers Brigade was deployed to Royal to support the 10th FedCom RCT who had been assaulted and overwhelmed by forces from the Draconis Combine. If you want to know more, I encourage you to refer to the Anthology (be warned, it may take a while to load in - the document is just over 110 pages in length, including over 50,000 words and images).

In all the Operation was a huge success - every Ranger that participated had a great time and I received tons of positive feedback. The Operation even got a few of our more dormant members to log in and run a few missions as well!

If you have any questions about Operation Broken Arrow, please ask away! If you would like to run this for your own unit, contact me and I'll set you up with all of the source materials.

This is fantastic. I avoided ready to much of the Anthology for fear of ruining anything in the event I get to try it out for my self.

I did have one question regarding the custom Cent, did you guys use the CBT customization rules?

No, customization was left fairly open for most of the operation. The only time pilots were encouraged to consider their builds was during the Old City Offensive (near the end of the operation), when I introduced a greater logistical element (by limiting the number of parts available for repair by chassis type, engine type and weapon type). The way it worked was there was a limited pool of Chassis Parts (Light/Medium/Heavy/Assault), XL Engines and Heavy Weapons. If we ran out of any, the corresponding mechs could not be used any more - so if you ran a mech with an XL Engine, and it got destroyed after we'd run out of XLs, you either had to find the space for a standard engine or use a different mech.

Fortunately, Art also gave us the option to do single-pilot support missions to acquire more chassis / weapons and XL engines for our inventory. ;)
