I'll believe it when I see it. This weekend will be target computer weekend, but there's no guarantee that they'll actually be great, good, or bad.

The only thing certain at this point is that the Command Module stinks.

And on a Clan mech that's a massive price to pay, given the rigid space/tonnage to work with.

I run Warhawks primarily, I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of effect this has on my performance, as I never removed the TC from the builds.

Really just mostly curious as to how a computer somehow enhances muzzle velocity..........aside from that, who cares, PGI will kill this game and move on to another once they finish soaking the suc.....errr customers that continue to buy into the hype.

PGI is making the Clan mechs OP on purpose so people buy them for real $$$. In 6 months when more people have left the game because its unbalanced due to the OP Clan mechs, PGI will nerf them after having sold lots for real $$$ to bring balance back to them game in the hope of winning back their lost player base, sadly that's what it looks like.

The real problem comes with the extended range on the lasers (ER Large Laser with over 900m range before falloff is outrageous) and the crit chance it provides.

Things TC will affect the most:

PPC
gauss
(maybe) smaller Autocannons because they have a decent velocity to enhance

Of these-

PPC: It is M'fing HOT. 15 heat, you gave up 7 tons and 7 crits, which means now you dont have 3 DHS in those crits etc.
Gauss: It is still heavy, even in clan guise. Now you have 7 tons less to put ammo or, well, not gauss weapons on. Dual gauss plus TC? what do you mean 3 tons ammo?
Small AC- thismight actually be the one area that is useful, as IMO velocity increase might reduce dmg spread, but i wont know without trying it. smaller AC also add up in tonnage to more then the big boys, so not sure how TC fits into the puzzle on this one yet.

Really though: if you havent built a clan mech on smurphy, or run one with multi PPC etc(even just 2) you couldnt possibly understand how the crits and tons MORE then cost/balance out the benefits of TC.

I am not sure of the console. The IS mechs have more space, so the crit is moot, but 3 tons is hefty on anything under 70 tons IMO. Maybe....PPC stalker might like this. Other advantages will look sweet to those that like/use things like advance sensor range etc.

in short, IMO the clan TC is not worth it's tonnage, cept maybe a very select loadout or two, and even then it is on the fence. IS console, might actually have a place in assault mechs and the odd heavy loadout.

Well, considering that 7 tons and 7 slots is huge for something like that, I don't see a big problem. Maybe the values could be toned down a little bit, but I'm not even arguing for that.

The way I see it, the targeting computers are a way to make up for not being able to change the engine at all, and even then they don't go with every build.

Mark 1 TC is gonna be so worth.

4.5% increased projectile speed and 7.25% more crit chance for LB20X is gonna be interesting. Not to mention the "Time to gather target info" decreases by 22.5% is just OP for a 1 ton equipment.
