If it doesn't work all the time for every situation, nobody will bother to reach for the esc key to use it imo.

It works for some menus but not all. For example if I go into SKILLS or MECHLAB and hit ESC, it doesn't take me back one screen to the HOME screen. WHY? What is the reason for this?
