I think it would be awesomeness if MWO had external views available in-game. Like a movie mode or a view mode with different points of view. It would be cool to show off all of the nice graphics in the game. And maybe a playback mode with VCR controls.(like Play, Switch View, Fast Forward, Rewind, and Pause)

There should definitely be a Spectator option in private matches, and possibly even a Cinematic Mode option for them (hold a key and you can freely zoom and spin the camera around your mech, with no UI or HUD to get in the way of the image).

There should also be a viewer built in to the client, along with the ability to upload videos directly from your game to a special library of user-generated videos. At the launch screen of a match have a check box for "record this match." After a match where you checked it, allow the player to replay, delete, and upload. It'd go straight to the user generated video library

they are still developing the spectator mode
they used its last rendition in the first MWO offical tournament and got a lot of feed back for ways to improve it
i would say they will release it to the public when they feel it is ready

as for a kill cam
