I know what they are, so how many should I expect?

I wouldn't be surprised if you only started with like 2 or 4 but had the option to buy more with irl money. Like LoL does with its Rune Pages. This would be a financially wise choice for PGI to make.

You start with 4. Any Mechs you buy from the founder's pack will not take up your initial 4 however.

^ This. Also, as per many other F2P titles, a few slots will probably unlock progressively, with the option to unlock X amount (to whatever maximum limit) at any time via cash shop.

I think that you can buy to save time, or wait to unlock. That is fair for the players who are low on funds. Thanks guys, I know what mechs I want (as of battle mech 13)

Well, World of Tanks had 5 or so, and the rest were purchaseable with IRL money.

WOT garage slots are much much cheaper than LOL rune pages as well.

I wonder how your mech stable will be displayed, i've seen the mech lab shots and video demo, but maybe there will be a overall mech hanger view?

Where does it say you start with 4? I think thats just an assumption you all have. I am against this by the way. In fact I think the idea is stupid.

I'll likely spend all my founder money on garage slots. If its obscure mech variants, gold ammo, consumables, hax i'll take the garage slot over that any day.

I'm going to just assume that you won't unlock any more slots without ponying up some real world cash. They've got to monetize this somehow.

It can be done like DCUO does its character slots.

F2P gets 2
Premium gets 6
Legendary gets 16

And you can always buy more slots with real money.

So maybe Free gets 4,
Vets get 8, (Vets pay 5 bucks a month)
Legendary gets 12 (Legendary pays 15 a month)

and more slots can be bought. Simple.

Well yeah, they want to make money on the game. You can bet XL and endosteel variants will be hard to get or cost real money, ditto with thngs like thunder and swarm LRM ammo. I know I'd pay a bit of cash to get my hands on a Banshee S or a prototype Light Fusion engine!

1: C-bills and real cash upgrade your slots
2: Time of play and real cash
3: XP and real cash
4: Only real cash.
5: Only in game values (XP, C-Bills, time of play)

A combination of 1,2,3, and 5 are alright.

I'm pretty sure, from what we have seen in the mechbay, that almost anything in the game can be purchased with either C-Bills or real money. This at least applies to mechs/weapons, and may well apply to bay slots too.

The main exception is some things which will be real-money-only, but so far it seems that the devs are going for cosmetic things only - nothing that would impact gameplay and give paying customers an exclusive advantage. Technically, the number of mechs you have doesn't give you an advantage one way or another... so this *could* be something only purchasable with real money... as it is in WoT at the moment.

i just think that founders mechs should not use garage slots
