The Dire Whale is fat, slow, and clumsy. It can't dodge, it can't retreat, and it can't really even torso twist. Its twist range is giganerfed just like the Buttmaster 1G and 3M variants, or non-3F Stalkers. Except that you have even less agility and speed, and lower weapon mounts.

The Dire Whale has a nuclear gigafuck of firepower, but it can sometimes be difficult to bring that firepower to bear or keep that firepower from getting overwhelmed by more maneuverable foes. It's very dependent on the battlefield conditions being "just right" so that its team doesn't desert it, and it doesn't drop on Alpine (dropping on Alps with a DW is pure cruelty, if not a form of medieval torture).

Yeah some of my best game results of been in a direwolf on Alpine (5+ kills and 1000+ dmg) so I can;t really agree with you, adapt and overcome is the name of the game with the direwolf.

In regards to the subject the OP brought up.... yeah hit recognition with PPC's is wonky. I have had multiple matches where PPC shots go right through the torso with no damage on different mechs but the laser's and AC rounds hit just fine .

PPC hit reco is definitely glitchy.

Seems more like a hit reg issue.

It is not an exclusive problem to Dire Wolves.
