You sneaked into the cockpit of your enemy and strangled him?
It's only logical answer, how you can get kill, without any DMG on mech Mr. Masterbugluck.

Some matches I go zero damage because all I am doing is Narcing and spotting.

0 damage 1 kill?

Surprisingly easy - all of the weapons but missiles are capable of dealing less than 1 damage.
(firing beyond the maximum range - or for lasers, only a portion of the beam duration hitting)
Combine that with DrSlam's answer, and it happens.
(only seen it once or twice in my games though, and never from me)

Also, surprisingly difficult - as there had to be less than 1 damage left on the guy!

Had this happen exactly once, running my RVN3L, conquest match where for most of the match i was running cap the points solo, back when a single mech could cap by itself in conquest before the match timer runs out I digress, anyway in the last few minutes of the match I am running to the next cap point when I literally run round the corner into a sticked and legged mech, didnt even see what it was as I was torso twisting... collided and i carried on... get to the end of the match and have 0dmg, 0asst and 1 kill. -Shrugs- Was really bizarre as I didn't even see the kill announcement.

Agreed Shar, but on River city night, I was at Theta, the enemy at Epsilon. 2 Med lasers 1 Tag, 2 x Srm6, Ac 20.

I still keep thinking it was the TAG for some reason.

But it's these sort of "special events" that keep me playing MWO.

TAG does 0 damage though - you cannot kill with it no matter how little health they have left

I don't often have a zero damage game, but when I do it's always intentional; I'm either acting as a dedicated spotter and never get close enough to bring my Raven's lasers into play, or I'm off capping bases and nothing ever comes after me.

Perhaps more amusingly, I did once kill a guy while unarmed.

Sometimes communicating and given encouragement to pugs is all it takes.

Using teamwork and tactics. It was refreshing to not have to lift a finger.

There's another method other than weapons fire, too.

Simply colliding with the enemy will cause damage less than 1.
