Remove charge time and launch window from single gauss, keep it in multiple confs.
Add charge time to multiple PPCs without launch window. One PPC immediate launch, multiple PPC launch after charging.
If PPC and gauss are setup in same mech, gauss will launch immediatelly and PPC have to charge upbefore it fires.
And bang, ppc-gauss combo is breaked.

Or just change the Gauss to instant, and the PPC to charge up mechanics, seeing as people mostly boat PPCs and just 1 Gauss.
Sounds a lot more logical to me. The 10+ Tesla magnets I've worked with all keep their charge for years on end (albeit their are supercooled). Particle streams require much more time to generate.
But what ever, I don't know what space-magic does to real world physics for the sake of balance

I still can't figure uncharged gauss-coils still explode on MWO.
Besides it doesn't matter what anyone suggests or how reasonable/logic that suggestion is.
Nobody of devteam read these ever, they concentrate adjusting and nerfing things that aren't even broken.
Like AC-range and speednerf, when whole time least common nominator has always been PPC.

I'm sure some of the things posted here make it to the dev team in some way shape or form.
If you dont believe that why are you even here.

Because I don't care anymore, that's why. If I cared, I wouldn't do any suggestions 'cause they always lead only to dissappointments and whining. I'd like to see this game worth caring, but doesn't care if it doesn't again become that.

Removing the Gauss recharge mechanic would be flavorful and fine for balance. Gauss fragility and explosiveness already pretty well balance the weapon when taking only one or two at a time.
PPCs would be much better balanced for 2+ if they all did damage arcing. I favor 9/3/3 for cERPPCs and 6/2/2 for PPCs and ERPPCs. In addition, PPC balance would be one of the major candidates for improvement with proper Dynamic Precision Reduction, especially when tied to the heat scale.
Finally, both Gauss and PPC would be well served with a further cooldown nerf. Move the Gauss and the (c)(ER)PPC both to 5.00s, reducing their effectiveness in Close Quarters Battle, while not significantly reducing their long-range capability.

This....I ve been back recently from a hiatus and tried the guass. Hated the recharge mechanic. So unintuative. uggg
The above poster has a mighty fine suggestion in my book.

Single gauss has never been a real thread in brawling. Of course one gets hurt with bad luck when facing one, but it's so easily critted that more like pita(pain in the *) than viable brawling weapon even without delay.
Dual-gauss is another thing, and it still should have somesorta extented firing time. Or rifles de-synched, one immediatelly and other after charging. Dunno precisely.
PPCs are whole different matter. Does they now store liquid 5000K plasma inside or what is the explanation that they fire instantly when triggered? If that's the case, howcome they do not burn half mech off when destroyed and that plasma goes maverick? Charge delay would logically suit much better to them than gauss, which coils can uphold necessary charge like forever (according to warrior above).
There's many things in mwo that wonders little 14k+ match player.
Sry at advance.

PPC's are fine, and not useful in CQC.

I just realized that if gaussdelay is removed, gauss+Ac20-jagges would immediatelly appear to battlefield. Personally they wouldn'be a problem, AC20 range is limited and usage demands XL-engines in mech which sidetorsos are bigger than Switzerland.
But to careless n00bs it would be another reason to start hilandorous forum crywar. Again.
