i get that the dire wolf is a hundred tons of hard point wielding doom and that you need to be more skilled than i am to be a threat when piloting it but i'd like one iddy biddy tincy wincy little change to the big fella nothing to serious difficult or game breaking just a few extra degrees of torso twist just enough to twist say80/ 85 degrees in each direction once twist x is unlocked pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaaase xxxxxxx its not much to ask really that still wouldn't be enough for it to engage an enemy off to the side with out turning the legs a bit and it could better defend against the ridiculus amount of lrms they attract even if its just a couple of degrees less than the atlas i'd be happy

PGi seems to hate assault mechs so they'll probably buff the timberwolf before they do this.

No thanks the Direwolf is already easy-mode in pug games.

You want balance instead of just buffing the already strong for domination? Ask them to look into the Summoner or something

Have you even doubled your basics yet?

Anyways, that's the price you pay for outgunning every other Mech in the game.

Direwolf speed is 53kph (after tweeks) which is the same speed as my Stalker. You should have no issues with LRM's.

dude the summoner is quite mobile stick some jj's and lpl's on it and its a killing machine its no timber wolf but still deadly, the whale is occasionally a killer in pug games only, provided ya team doesn't run off on ya and the enemy stands in front of ya and there's no missile boats to screw ya over coz its to slow to make use of radar derp and can't twist enough to spread the damage to the arms, im not asking much just a couple of degrees, then again still got elite efficency to go yet that'll double the twist x skill

may be i'm a better pilot than i credit my self ............... may be

My average damage in the Dire Wolf is 460ish and I often break the 1000's easy. It's fine as it is anymore buffs and I might as well just auto-win.

Note: My Dire Wolf is gold so I'm usually a number 1 target.

yeah keep the DW like it is right now....buff it and the whine will flow and fill the rivers of angst until they flow over and flood the fields of butthurt.

btw. Do you guys really notice that a mech is golden? For me mechs are brownish until about 300m....i couldn't tell if the mech is golden or yellow or brown until i ram my mech up their bumm (and that's unpleasant for both of us trust me ;) )

No. If you can't do well with in a mech with that amount of pod space and hardpoints, then get better.

You get to carry a metric fuckton of firepower, which is why the mech's lack of speed/agility is justified.

However, I could potentially see giving a +5% or so speed boost quirk to the Prime and A side torsos, because everyone just uses the B side torsos for the dual ballistics. This would give a choice between wanting moar dakka or a little more speed (but still being very slow).

No, the slow + lumbering + high firepower motif is best for assaults! There is no need for high agility!

Honestly as it stands now, despite many claims otherwise, the Dire Wolf is pretty well balanced. Its amazing firepower is offset by its lack of mobility which makes it very vulnerable. Basically it can kill very fast but can also be easily out maneuvered and killed itself.

Give it more mobility however and then you will have a overpowering, game dominating mech. This needs to be avoided.

Nah, DW is fine. It has enough twist to defend with, all else is made up for by that 50.5 tons of pod space.

There is absolutely nothing like double gauss headshots as something peeks you and realizes that not only are you a whale, but you are also a dire whale.

And then they die.

And then you get hate mail in chat.

(I've been trying to get another person with the gold dire wolf, I've already got another guy, we just need a golden timber wolf to complete a small group. Honestly, I'd like to get a full group together just for the screenshot value, I've already seen a kit fox and an adder, so they have to exist.)
